It has occurred to me that a lot of ttrpg players don't actually enjoy the role play

#I've gotten into critical role #and immediately didn't like the combat #and how much it took you out of the story #and how forced some of the narrative decisions felt #to confine to the rules #so I looked into daggerheart to play myself #and it seems a lot more narratively open #which I enjoy #but most of the complaints about it are from people #that DONT LIKE ROLE PLAYING #why the fuck are these people playing ttrpgs if they enjoy the mechanics of it #video games exist #you have awful imagination and suck at role olay #it's inherently going to be a lot of world building #don't try to play a fully imaginative narrative game #when you're not going to put in the creative effort #and hate the entire point of it #anyways imo ttrpgs are about the narrative if that wasn't clear #and most importantly the role playing #I think I'll enjoy daggerheart from someone who's never played a trrpg #also I desperately need people to play with #so hmu #(I'm very early in the world building stage so it'll be a few months before it's fleshed out enough)

My policy on commenting, responding to comments and inbox memes:

I participate in fandom so that I can interact with others. If I was interested in an echo chamber, I wouldn’t bother posting my works or participating in social media.

If you take the time to comment to me, I will almost always respond by thanking you. (Sometimes, admittedly, it can take up to a year, but I always get there in the end!) I figure that if you’re willing to give of your time and effort to tell me what you think of my writing, I should at least express gratitude for it.

Conversely, I don’t tend to comment on things when the author doesn’t respond in any way. That’s absolutely the author’s right! But, it’s also my right to decide not to comment. Sometimes I will despite the fact I likely won’t receive a response, but don’t count on it. I only have so much energy and throwing it out into the void isn’t on my agenda. Again, I’m here to participate, and it takes two people to do that.

If you do comment to me, I’ll often go seek out your works to see what they’re about and comment on them, too! Depending on how much time I have, anyway. <3

Probably if you don’t ever signal boost my creative works, I will stop doing it for yours. It’s not mutual if it’s one-sided, after all.

Probably if you send me ask memes, I will send them to you, too! Since I cut my teeth on this site in the RP community, reblog and meme etiquette is something I got lots of practice in. Conversely, if you reblog off of me but don’t bother to send anything, I’m not gonna bother sending anything to you.

Basically, I believe in fair play and mutuality. <3 I am highly encouraging and I often do what I can to support others creatively, but my energy for non-reciprocation is pretty non-existent these days. So, if you want interaction with me, offer it.
