❝ you can come with me. i mean if you don't have anyone waiting for you. ❞ - for Toge from Yuuta @eclipsecentral (your choice on verse)
@eclipsecentral | @sol-multimuse
⠀⠀⠀⠀it's late. the campus library is practically a ghost town, the occasional scraping of a chair on the carpeted floor the only sign that there is life still within those walls. and one of those lives was inumaki, lip caught in between his teeth as he finishes writing the final sentence to his essay. he'd much rather be doing this at the apartment, but he's painfully aware of his roommate having someone else over, the text he'd received very clear in its meaning: unless he wanted to be hearing him with his girlfriend all night long, he better come home late. or not at all. so the library had been the best place for him to keep busy and get some work done, though now... well, now he's done everything; has even read five chapters ahead for most of his classes, finished the essay and even sent it. and the idea of sleeping in the library was not really ideal.
⠀⠀⠀⠀with a sigh, inumaki finally stands, collecting everything he has and carefully sticking it inside his backpack, leaving it on the chair while he went to the vending machine. on his way, he can't help but notice a familiar face far too distracted by his own studies to even realize he was watching him. by the looks of it, yuuta had also been there for quite some time, sleepy eyes dragging across the laptop screen slower and slower still.
⠀⠀⠀⠀it takes all of five minutes for inumaki to collect two cold cans of coffee from the machine before returning to the library, quickly grabbing his backpack so he can head over to his table. he drags the chair in front of yuuta back, sitting across from him and slid the can of coffee across the table with a teasing smile. an offering.
⠀⠀⠀⠀in between conversation and soft laughs, it isn't long before they're both yawning despite the caffeine they'd consumed. and at yuuta's words, inumaki's brows lift. are you sure? the message on his own phone, turned towards the other student so he could read, was more than enough to show the surprise brought on by the offer. he hates the idea of being a bother, the idea that yuuta might be taking pity on him after knowing the reason for being out so late when normally he'd only do that for a party. i'd like that.
My brother in Japan and still headed to Korea in a week after that Me, home, working: you better bring me sm shit omg
the idea of one of peter's neighbours knowing who he is and what he's out doing when he's not home and never saying anything but quietly taking care of him by making sure he always has first aid supplies, groceries, home cooked meals under the pretence of i made extra and i'd rather give it to you than have it go to waste
so what if i'm gonna be adding a lot of muses into the roster
Cupping the face of a man that has been through nothing but pain and suffering and hasn't had a chance of showing his care and him turning towards the palm and placing a gentle kiss on it? The tenderness

not me realizing that one of my OG muses on this blog never made it into the new roster page
Long lashes fluttered as she placed the necktie of her apron up and over her head. Allowing the lavender fabric to settle on her shoulders. Delicate digits moving to tie the strings taut around her waistline as she stepped foot into the shared dorm kitchen. Catching sight of familiar blond locks in the process.
Ah . . . she figured he would be here.
❝ Um . . . I thought . . . I might offer some help? You're always . . . cooking alone. . . So I . . . thought I - I could be of some use? ❞
While she wasn't confident she could make it as a hero just yet, she was confident about her cooking. It's one of her skills that shone when she put it to use. Baking or cooking was far different from practical exams, where she often got in her own head, here she was far more sure in her abilities.
❝ I promise I won't g - get in your way. ❞

He hears her before he sees her. Bakugou doesn't halt his movements, continuing chopping the vegetables for the stew, never missing a beat. There's surprise rising in him at the fact that she's willingly joining him, however, knowing that not a lot of his classmates would ever even consider doing that. His moods are fickle, his wrath knowing no bounds if you got in his way - especially when he's cooking.
But he knows she won't. He knows she's soft and kind and that makes his chest do weird things that he's not prepared to put a name to. So he doesn't.
He hums. An answer in itself. If he wanted her gone, he would've had no issues telling her. Loudly, almost proudly. Instead that's all he does. He hums and continues chopping, and to anyone looking from the outside, it might look like he's ignoring her. Reality was much different.
❝ The meat. You're responsible for it. ❞ He takes a step to the side, giving her counter space and access to the other chopping board that he'd already set up for when he finished the vegetable.
There’s a feeling she doesn’t understand when he looks at her. Her name’s spoken and it’s like a far off dream. His voice had grown lower, rougher, than she remembers. He had aged. He looked colder, too. Meanwhile she knows she’s barely aged, and time had softened her.
“I…” Dio’s words faded as thoughts continued to race through her mind. She nods after a few seconds. “Yeah. Yeah. It’s me.”
By the look on his face, no one told him she was alive. It didn’t help that she didn’t reach out either. He might think he’s seeing a ghost with everything he’s been through. That’s what they wanted her to be: a ghost. She doesn’t have to be anymore, though. Maybe if he’d give her a chance to explain? “I’m sorry. I understand if you’re angry or upset I just…” Or just what?
Dio inhales deeply, her body relaxing as she exhales. Words laced a certain kindness that only she could give are eventually spoken. It's a kind of softness she remembered using when talking with him all those years ago. “I’m glad to see you’re alive. I’m sorry for not catching up sooner.”
The sheer sight of her brings a softness in his chest that Leon hadn't felt in far too long. "Why would I be angry?" His tone is an exactly showcase of how he feels: confused. Because she was meant to be dead, she was meant to be gone and he had mourned her and what little he got to know about her only to it have all been for nothing.
He's not upset. Far from it. He's happy, the corners of his lips lifting finally, even if only a fraction. Smiling had been scarce, as of late, and it's not a movement that comes all that naturally to him anymore.
He takes a step forward, arm stretching and wanting to give her a hug. He stops himself, however, remember how hugs weren't her thing. Not really. Besides, how long has it been? A hug from him would probably be the last thing she wants.
So instead he scratches the back of his neck, offering an awkward laugh. "I could say the same thing about you. I'm really happy you're alive. And... Seemingly doing well, I hope?"
for a moment, he feels a jolt of hope-- finally, some good news. sure, it wasn't much in the grand scheme of things, but it was still better than nothing. they wouldn't starve or die of dehydration, at least (not that he was expecting to be stuck here that long). and they had dry clothes to wear; something warmer would have been better, but beggars can't exactly be choosers right now, he supposes.
arms outstretch, catching the clothing tossed his way gladly. 'awesome-- thanks! i'm freezing!' it hardly needs to be said, he's wet and shivering, fingers fumbling a bit as he works at removing his uniform. still he manages, albeit the frigid air that's numbed his fingers, damp clothes dropping onto the floor below.
little time is waisted as fresh shorts are pulled on; he's about to do the same with the sweater, soft and warm within his hands, when he considers bakugou's question. did he need patched up? 'uhh-- maybe?' he raises an arm, wincing slightly as he attempts to check himself over. there was a pain, he knew, his lower back throbbing with a dull, uncomfortable ache.
unfortunately, if there is something wrong, he can hardly tell. well, visually, at least. he isn't quite flexible enough to twist that far. he'd like to think that it isn't anything serious, that it's nothing more than a bad bruise, but somehow he has a feeling that's not the case.
he fights the urge to pull the sweater over his head (he's so cold!), instead shifting where he stands to allow bakugou to get a better look at his back. 'i'm pretty sure i got hit but i can't tell how bad it is.' he glances behind him, once again, to no avail-- the injury is out of both sight and reach alike, at least to him. 'wanna be my eyes for a sec and tell me what you see? i'm not gonna die, am i?'
he ignores the pain he feels with purpose: bakugou hated asking for help (something he's still trying to learn to do by instinct) but his focus was solely on his partner. get him all patched up and warm and then he'd try to lose that massive ego that often blinded him so that denki could help him patch up as well. it hurt, sure, but he'd live. the shirt is large enough that it won't stick to the bloodied mess on his lower back. he can reach it, but he knows it's better to let someone else handle that rather than just blindly dabbing at an open wound and make it worse.
his hand lightly grabs hold of his shoulder, turning him in place to spot the injury at the same time that denki helps him do just that. "think you're a goner, brat. might as well toss you outside for the wolves to feed." there's a hint of a smirk on his lips, though, hand lowering before he goes back to the table he'd set the first-aid supplies at, grabbing them and returning to his side.
there's an odd gentleness that isn't often seen with bakugou as he grabs the cotton ball and soaks it in disinfectant. He would've preferred to have some clean water to clean the wound, though water wasn't exactly abundant, so he had to work with what he had. "This is going to sting." his tone is soft in warning, hand splaying around the gash on his back as he cleaned it with as much care and concern as it allowed him.
when the once white cotton comes out covered in pink, bakugou dabs it dry, pressing antiseptic into the wound. there's a grimace on his face, knowing it had to be hurting. the hand once holding the surroundings of the wound move to denki's neck, lightly squeezing in comfort, thumb soothingly brushing the hairs at the back of his neck. he barely takes note of doing it, though, worry marring his thoughts as he finally applies the bandage.
"there. all better. no dying on my watch, sparky." bakugou takes a step back, evaluating his work with a pleased nod before he stretches his arms above his head. it makes him wince, the stark reminder of the wound he also carried on his lower back. "do you feel alright enough to check my back too? think i got a cut there or something."
Yuffie admired how doting he was on someone he had just met. It was very sweet and courteous. Something she certainly wasn't expecting him to continue doing these many moments past the agonising event in the alley.
"It's not the first thing on my mind, but it could be." She teased, her cheeks turning pink from the cold. As he fussed about her making sure she was warm, she looked up at him, her deep brown eyes searching his. As his hand touched her cheeks, her eyes closed for a moment, and she longed for his touch after it was gone.
Once they were wrapped up and ready to brave the cold, she looped her arm through his.
"Lead the way, Valko."
"Don't tease me, little firefly. You should let me earn that right, rather than just giving it to me. Or anyone else, for that matter." His words come out light, as if a joke. He means it with all honesty, though: she deserved the effort he'd put into getting that first official date with her. She deserved the whole world, in his eyes. But he'd pretend like he means it as a joke, not wanting to come off as too strong, as someone taking advantage of a rough moment.
His step momentarily halts at feeling her loop her arm around his, pink colouring his cheeks, something he'd blame on the cold wind. He doesn't say anything, however, or much less make her retreat. He keeps his stride alongside hers, hand on top of the one that held onto him to make sure she was warm enough.
"It's not much, but-" He finally comes to a stop in front of a clearing, a wooden bench made for two or three people facing the town, and the view itself from this hill amazing. At least to him, it was: the night sky that kept increasingly coming closer, tinting the clouds in oranges and purples and yellows; the homes in the distance that slowly began turning on the small twinkling lights to illuminate the fast approaching evening; the wind rustling the trees in the distance, allowing for entire blocks of snow to drop onto the already white pavement. "- I come here to relax and think sometimes. It's quiet. And most people don't really know about this corner of the park since the bush grew so big."
Because I can not help myself, and I am talking about it with @givingnightcall , I had to share these images of the BEAUTIFUL ship that is Sylus & Rosalie that we have been plotting. Plus one cuties chibi photo
◜ ♡ ॱ𓏽 one month. one month of trial and error; one month of that hollow feeling in her bones, the lack of affinity and awareness to know if he's well or not wrapping her in desperate solitude and melancholy. she'd awoken a month ago to an empty world, recovered of her injuries but her heart refused to heal. valko was gone. back into his world ? she assumed. she couldn't sense him in the slightest ── kin and akin, recalled something about an imprint. it's broken now, worlds apart where the only scent in the air is miraland and her need for nikki's stay.
so for the next month she worked hard, passed each test, quest and challenge, from chigda onwards she did not rest. from her failed attempts to convince the seer to take her to his world even after saving miraland; what was she missing ? was more still coming ? her nights were restless, fingers dug into her palms and the nightmares that plagued her night intensifying, waking up in tears and cold sweats. until ────
she saw one of her many deaths. a cliff by the sea, the moon hanging above and her floating outfit failing her as she fell and fell and fell ..... eyes snap open at the sound of howling in the distance. a foreign land, the cliff by the sea like in her nightmare but it doesn't resemble miraland. the only similarity is the full moon brightening the black sky, calling out to her pink starry heart. nikki stood up, fingers brushing her collarbone, palm to her chest; suddenly sensing ── him. ꨄ︎ a plotted whimstar for @givingnightcall .ᐟ
⠀⠀⠀⠀hell on earth. that's how he'd describe the agonising pain that it has been living apart from nikki. how does one go from finding their soulmate their mate to being thrown out of their world without so much as a goodbye?? his skin feels akin to fire, the voice in his head pleading for her return: for the touch of her soft skin, for the gentle embrace of the one he cares for ── idiot!! he should've told her while he could, he should've let her know how much he cared, how thankful he'd been for her support when he'd been thrown into this entirely new environment.
⠀she knows, right? she has to know how deeply he'd felt for her. for everything she'd done for him and with him.
⠀⠀⠀⠀he hoped she knew.
⠀⠀so once he returns to his home world, valko doesn't rest. his body and mind won't allow him to, creating fake images of her presence, scents that feel oh so close to hers but are never once he finds its origin. it leaves him broken hearted and just... broken.
⠀⠀it's in between one of those sleepless nights that it happens. valko walks through the wooded area near his home, hoping to find some clarity in the starry sky above him ── a sign from the gods on how to go back to her. how to bring her here. ANYTHING! when it hits his nose like a brick wall. her scent. floral. sweet. freshly cut grass and a cold night under the stars. unmistakably hers. it takes him a moment to come to terms with it, too, the fear of this being merely a trick of his mind once again far too present in his head.
@givingnightcall II plotted a starter! (Eiland/Valko)
Eiland rolls up his sleeves as he made his way to the local digging site. Excited for another day of excavating, he was already mapping out everything he had planned for the day written legibly in his notebook. Focus on the east side of the site, collect and dust what he did find, and store away to take to the museum later. It was shaping up to be an exciting day!
Errol was to join him later too, and together, who knows what they were going to discover! He could feel himself brimming with excitement as he approaches the dig site and moves to head down the ramp that led into the digging area. It was an area that him and Errol had carved out over the months of excavating together. It was almost picked clean by them, and once it was finished, they would move on to another site.
As he begins his descent, however, what stops him in his tracks is the sight of someone laying in the grass near their working tent as well as other excavating items they kept stored away for daily use. The person wasn't moving, even after all the noise Eiland has made all the way up to the site.
Eiland's brows furrow together, after a moments hesitation, he rushes over to check on them. Not knowing if they needed help or were hurt, Eiland approaches carefully.
It is then that he sees a male. Someone he doesn't recognize in Mistria. Eiland kneels down, and puts a hand on his shoulder, giving him a shake. He doesn't wake up right away, and Eiland worriedly shakes him a little harder and then leans over him, putting an ear to his chest, just to make sure.
Hearing his heart beating and the sound of his breathing and the subtle movement of his chest, Eiland lets out of a sigh of relief. But he knew he couldn't feel too relieved just yet. There was still a reason he's knocked out. He could still need assistance of some kind.
❝ Sir? ❞ He asks warily, becoming increasingly more worried the longer the male doesn't wake up. Looking at him more closely, however, it is then that Eiland notices how handsome he is. Too handsome, if he's being honest.
He stares for an embarrassingly long time before his gaze flickers up to a set of ears sitting atop the man's head. Wolf ears? Strange. People didn't often wear ears unless it was a headband, and even, this man didn't seem like the type to do so.
He unthinkingly, reaches out, touching the ears carefully. Rubbing them between two fingers, he finds that they're... soft? Incredibly soft. They felt very real, as well. Warm, the touch feeling like cartilage between his fingers. The fur felt as real as Dozy's fur, and--
The ear twitches, making Eiland jump. He yanks his hand back with a gasp.
They were real!
He stares, bewildered and eyes wide as he waits for the ears to move again and then at the handsome sleeping man. There was something about him. Something different. Whatever reason he found himself in Mistria, Eiland has a feeling that he couldn't be seen. Not right away. The ears alone would conjure all sorts of questions from the others.
❝ Eiland! Are you here yet? ❞
A shout could be heard, making Eiland perk up. It was Errol. That wasn't good and was terribly bad timing after just deciding the man shouldn't be seen.
Eiland scrambles for a moment, looking around before he decides to move the man into the tent. He jumps up, slips his arms underneath the massive biceps of the other, and with all his might, drags him into the tent with all the strength a baron's son could conjure up. He brings him into the safety of the tent and carefully lays him down.
Right at that moment, Errol approaches, calling for Eiland once more.
He doesn't answer right away, and instead, watches through the flaps of the tent, waiting to see what he would do next. If Erroll came to the tent, he was prepared to put a blanket over the man.
But why wasn't he going out there and telling him he was in the area?
Eiland bites his lower lip, and watches Errol leaves while making a note that his fellow digger must have been back at the museum. Errol heads that way in search of him; mostly likely to go back to the museum.
It wasn't until he was sure that Errol was out of the area, does he finally release the breath he was holding as he looks down at the man he just supposedly saved.
It's been... A rough couple of months.
Having to leave his entire life behind in order to protect those he cared for? Not something he planned, not something he'd wanted, though he'd been willing if it meant they'd all be alright. It didn't have to be forever, it didn't have to mean goodbye, though the deal had been for him to leave the pack and quit being the leader. Quit being the Alpha he was meant to be.
He'd fought, he'd attempted to find a better way, but when one of the pups had been threatened, Valko knew he'd do anything to help those in need.
And so he'd left. Not forever, not like he couldn't return. But home needed to be elsewhere. A different postal code. The trips back for work were more than manageable considering he would only need to be present for meetings and anything of higher importance: most of it was done remotely, anyway, and he could build himself a lab in whatever address he'd choose to start his new life.
Money was no issue, after all, but the heart aches after only a few months away, and after an attempt to contact his pack to check in, Valko is caught off guard in this little town of Mistria.
He'd thought himself safe from prying eyes: the area is mostly of hard access, and even though he's staying at the local inn, he's making sure to go back and forth when he knows there's no one around to spot him. Other than the kind man that allowed for him to have a room for however long he wanted, no one else had seen him.
He could smell the curious children hanging just outside his door, waiting for a glimpse of the strange new arrival, he could even smell the change of emotions during their Friday Night event before someone drank too much and nearly tripped on their way out, or the sweet scent of the soup that seemed to always be begging him to come down and eat.
But it hadn't been enough. Not when he finds himself running through the wooded area in search of a good space to look up at the stars and he senses the shift in the air far too late.
There's six of them, as far as he can tell, and normally Valko would be more than capable of handling them with no issues. Today, though, is not one of those times. Not when he's been up for the past three days with only a couple of hours of sleep, not when he's been so worried he'd miss the deadlines on his new campaign for the chocolate he's releasing soon that he's barely had a bite to eat in just as long.
It takes all of ten minutes before Valko is down for good. He can barely move, can barely hear beyond the ringing in his ears. This is it, he thinks. This is how he dies. Away from anyone that cared for him, without being able to say goodbye to those he loves. Without ever finding love himself.
And it takes him a few moments to realize that... Yeah, he's still here. He feels himself being dragged, hears someone's breathing right next to him, a hint of concern drifting in the air. He cannot pinpoint who it is, not exactly. He knows he's smelled this person, probably during one of those many Friday Nights at the inn, but he has no clue who it is. Or what they intended on doing.
His ear twitches, reminding Valko that he's meant to be human. Human! He cracks one eye open, having to stop himself from opening his mouth in shock at the sight. He's quite the sight, he can't help but think - all soft features and kind eyes, hair so seemingly soft that his hand twitches with the need to run his fingers through it.
He's not looking at him, though, and that's exactly what he needs as he suppresses the ears and tail to disappear from sight. Maybe he can trick the man into thinking he'd imagined it?
A groan, soft, mixed with a whimper at feeling the ache that covers his entire body. ❝ Ah - fuck. That hurts. ❞ It's mumbled, Valko slowly rising to sit up, hand rubbing at his face. He looks down, noticing his ripped shirt, the tear akin to a wild animal's attack. His face is covered in cuts and bruises as well, blood under his nails the proof that he'd fought back. ❝ Uh - Thank you? I think. ❞
I will be online most of tomorrow doing replies and getting back on IM's and discord!!
