The losses and sacrifices suffered by the U.S. in Afghanistan were always going to have been in vain.
There was never an outcome where that was not going to be the case.
It's grotesque to see all of these outlets talk about how this is an 'embarrassment to the West' or how we should all consider the 'trauma' this will inflict on [U.S. military] survivors and vets because.... they were ordered to be invaders for 20 years?
And all that's not to even mention how the Afghans are going to recover from yet another generation of imperial back-door politics and the repercussions of protracted war.
