I would love some book recommendations! what’s been your favourite reads?
I probably won’t include authors because I’m lazy….
Did the genre in parenthesis if I could and it might get long these are ones I’ve loved from the last few years
NF= nonfiction/biography or memoir
The house in the cerulean sea (F)- one of my favorite books ever I love them so much!! I’ve read and done audio of this and I like the audible narrator
Project Hail Mary (loved this on audio but I did both versions)
I’m glad my mom died (NF)
Margo’s got money troubles
Atmosphere (HF)- space race/astronauts
Wild dark shore (Fi) - Antarctica and whales
The rose code (HF) - about the female code breakers at Bletchley park during ww2. I loved it so much!!! I actually got to see the enigma machines in dc which was so cool.
The Alice network (HF) - ww1 I think (from my memory)
Lilac girls (HF) - 3 perspectives from ww2. I read this a while ago but loved it.
Remarkably bright creatures (F I suppose)
The correspondent (Fi)- written in letters so it’s fast. Just read this one and loved it.
People we meet on vacation/beach read/happy place (R)
Normal people (R I guess)
The heart’s invisible furies (idk- but depressing)
The nightingale (HF- majorly depressing)
107 days (NF) - Kamala’s book
Ordinary heroes (NF) - by the first battalion chief to arrive to the trade center on 9/11.
The only plane in the sky (NF) - I also did this on audio and it was chilling. It’s an oral history of 9/11
Miss benson’s beetle (Fi)
Diary of young girl of course
The sweet spot/far and away (Fi- these were cozy)
In order to live (NF) - a woman’s escape from North Korea, I did this on audible
The maid by Nina prose - I found Molly to be so charming and I loved the book so much
The happiest man on earth (NF) - about a holocaust survivor
Handmaids tale (I read this in school but loved it)
Harry Potter (sorry but it’s the truth)
I who have never known men (dystopian and dark but very good. It’s a translation if you’re reading in English so slightly dry at times)
When the world goes quiet (HF) ww2
Is everyone hanging out without me/why not me (NF) Mindy kaling’s books
The awakening (I read in high school but I loved it)
The kite runner (also in high school but it’s great HF)
