If I had a nickel for every time that Hou Minghao cried over the tragic death of a tree in a fantasy drama, I'd only have two nickels, but it's weird that it's happened twice.

Molly making Fitz feel safe is very sweet to me... I think that's kind of a foundational part of their relationship where Fitz can just be a Real Person with Molly. And it does go both ways I think. Molly without Fitz was a girl with a drunk abusive father, or a maid at the keep, or a widow with seven children etc etc. But with Fitz she gets to be Molly Nosegay, or even Nosebleed, she gets to reclaim that part of herself.
They're both each other's first Best Friend and even when everything changes they can still go back to that.
I think it's nice...
Featured Fic Friday!
Welcome to Featured Fic Friday! A day where I, or someone who suggests one, tell you about a fanfic that I really enjoy! Spoiler's under the cut! Today's featured fic is...
Wheels of misfortune (a Nightmare angst fic) by @mikimakiboo (Not Rated, Complete)
Based on these two posts by @unknownchoatic :) I don't know ANYTHING about disability as I am not disabled myself, so please excuse the inaccuracies and misinterpretations :') Also English isn't my first language so there might be grammatical errors :') I'll proof read later Tw: paralysis (???), mention of bullying, self hatred
While a bit of a short story, it's an enjoyable read if you need something quick! I love the concept of disabled Nightmare, & the author does a good job of executing the idea! Although it is left without a rating, I would say that it's generally suited for most ages!
While I'm not physically disabled myself, I can say that at least some folks with disabilities do act the way that Nightmare does, wanting to be independent & not relying on others! The author captures the emotions of such a thing very well, making your heart ache in sympathy for Nightmare.
Spoilers ahead!
for someone who Hated going home for the holidays, first christmas post mom death is proving uncharacteristically upsetting
Jack’s portrait is new to acnh
Soooooo ur telling me u don't have to study a single subject other than your major!!!!!!!!!!!! Dude I need to come to UK!!! This is actually made for me!!!!!! 😂Cuz I have very bad concentration!!
hahaha yeah! i mean, in first and second year you /have/ to take at least one course per semester which isn’t your degree subject, but you can pick what that is, so it’s all good. you don’t have to study anything, it’s all flexible. so like, I did a course about music, I’ve done one about scottish studies...it’s really flexible and I think that’s what makes a degree in scotland so good :)
can I just say one thing I love about fanfic is that (generally) there aren’t obnoxious pretentious assholes trying to dictate how fics should or shouldn’t be written
like I’ve gotten a few bad comments on fics here and there, but for the most part, this community has been so great to me
and I think part of what makes fanfic so special is that there’s a lot of freedom in it, to write whatever it is you want to write in the way you want to write it and that’s how it should be in every field of writing
anyways what I’m trying to say is I just came across some horrible writing advice by a ‘professional’ author and I just want to say, please, please don’t let somebody tell you how you’re writing something is wrong, or what you’re writing is wrong, or that your style is wrong and process is wrong
just ignore people on the internet dulling out writing advice altogether
there isn’t one magic process that works for everyone. it doesn’t exist. just write and you’ll find what works for you eventually
