Sitting in class and having my friend show me an article that Liam Payne is dead was not on the schedule today
stalks up to you like this
no girl you're in aedes elysiae
hate that my family assume that the reason i’ve been into f1 recently is because of a man, the only man i’m following f1 for is the teams im supporting x
My only quibble with Avowed is that they pronounce "garrotte" incorrectly.
Idk if its just my brand of queerness that makes me unable to relate but ive just never bought it when a character in a novel meets the love interest and they're immediately described so much differently than all the other characters in a way where it's just so clear youre supposed to find this person hot. Like "gorgeous eyes" "handsomely ruffled hair" "chiseled jaw" "a body to die for". It just immediately takes me out of the scene. Probably because i very rarely get crushes or feel that sort of attraction so im always like ???? Is this a joke? Yall cant seriously be out here thinking like this, right?
Watching a show about women that has multiple episodes with the theme of #GirlPower
Main Character talking about a video game she's about to play with a man: Uh, you have a lot to learn. I have three brothers. I'm gonna crush you. 💅💕
Meanwhile the line works exactly the same and honestly better if you removed the part about her brothers
"Uh, you have a lot to learn. I'm gonna crush you."
Infinitely makes the character and the scene more interesting, now the character trait of being good at this video game is about her, its about her passion for it and her enjoyment of it instead of implying that the only reason she would be interested in playing video games at all is because she has brothers rather than a choice made from her own agency while also subtly checking the internalized misogyny of the man playing with her, but by throwing in a random thing about her having three brothers you just reinforce the internalized misogyny in his surprise at her supposed skills and subtly reinforce the idea that the only way a woman could be into something like this is if there was some kind of male influence pushing her towards it
