so now run || simba & scar
The blaring of Simba's phone roused him from his mid-afternoon nap. He let out an annoyed groan as he felt around his pockets for his phone. It had taken him forever to get comfortable in the hammock he was currently occupying (he'd been having some trouble sleeping lately, with everything that was going on), and he was less than pleased at the interruption. When he saw that his caller i.d. said Zazu, he was even more irritated. He knew he was supposed to show up for some New Years speech thing his dad was giving this morning, but as he was currently trying to avoid everyone he knew like the plague, he decided to bow out of today's duties. Simba moved to press ignore--he so was not in the mood to be yelled at right now--but the nagging guilt at the back of his mind made him answer the phone.
"Listen, Zazu, I'm sorry I--what?"
The words come home, father, and shot registered in his mind and he hung up the phone, flying out of the hammock and running inside the Kiburi beach house where he had planned on spending the day, gathering the few things he had brought with him as he dialed for a car to come pick him up.
When the car arrived his driver had tried to talk him into returning to the manor, telling Simba that he had been given strict orders to make sure the Crown Prince was returned home safely. Simba told him, in no uncertain terms (and with a few expletives thrown in for flair) that if he didn't take him straight to the hospital he would throw himself out of the currently speeding vehicle and catch a bus to the hospital.
He made a very compelling argument.
As soon as they were in the hospital parking lot, Simba jumped out of the car and ran inside, leaving his driver calling after him. He ran through doors and down hallways, following the signs along the walls until he arrived in the emergency room, skidding to a halt at the front desk, where a very grumpy looking older woman stared him down over the bride of her reading glasses.
"Can I help you, sir?" She asked, tone almost condescending. "Yes--" he panted, taking a moment to catch his breath, "I'm here to see my father." "Do you have a name?" she replied, eyes flicking to the computer monitor in front of her. "Mufasa Kiburi."
She didn't even meet his gaze.
"There is no one under that name registered at this hospital."
Simba let out an exasperated sigh, understanding dawning on him. "Look, lady, I get it, I do, but you have to let me in, okay? I'm his son. I have to see him. Do you understand?"
She leveled him with a look as flat as the tone of her voice.
"Look kid, nobody has clearance to get in there, understand? Nobody."
Simba slammed his fist down on the desk.
"I don't CARE. I HAVE TO GET IN THERE. I'M HIS SON, I'M HIS FUCKING SON. DO YOU GET THAT? MY DAD IS IN THERE, OKAY? HE--"
His tirade came to a screeching halt, voice catching in his throat as he felt a large hand on his shoulder and a familiar voice at his side. He turned his head, eyes wide.
"Uncle Scar, oh thank god."
