obligatory health disclaimer: essential oils are most dangerous to animals in their purest forms and when ingested or topically applied (cats are more at risk than dogs). using them in a passive diffuser in the house is mostly fine unless the pet has pre-existing breathing issues or the species has delicate respiratory systems (e.g birds), just make sure to use it in small bursts in a well-ventilated area (depending on the system), and preferably with the animal in another room. the risk also varies depending on the kind of oil you use (but is never zero).
