Does anyone have experience with circular knitting machines ? Theres one thats about 50 USD that seems...okay...but also as its 100% made of plastic it is not a durable tool.
Im considering buying one to make as many hats as I can. Weighing the cost of the environmental impact of more plastic trash vs providing sorely needed hats for people in my community. Also it can knit flat which means I could make some easy mitts, too.
Main thing is im not sure i could manage the hand crank. That seems dubious with my hand arm and shoulder issues. Would love to hear from someone who has used circular knitting machines...
#its a sentro 48 needle that im looking at#i see some others that are like 3x the price but even smaller and also made of plastic so its kind of. eh.#but from what im reading the 48 needle will work for an average size hat and then i could hand make the bigger ones#like knitting/crocheting occasional pieces ? not a problem. trying to use my body to make tons of hats ? bad. no.#idk idk.... i also dont rly have the money to be doing that. ive missed so much work recently and i ran out of pto#about 6 months ago lol. so my apartment and bills are about 1800 a month#and im making 2200 on average....and food is really really expensive esp with my dietary restrictions#and my inability to go to a lot of different stores to get good deals#its fred meyers or nothing. and fred meyers basically robs you#point being its not a wise purchase but none of my purchases are....#so. hm.#god and thats not even counting bus fees lmao. 100 dollars a month for that. and then yknow cat litter. soap. dishes because i keep dropping#and breaking them. shit like that#i do what i can to lighten the load like i make my own laundry soap which is like 5% the price of buying it#we are hopefully getting a small cost of living increase and a bonus if the current union contract passes. idk the correct words for that#but yeah voting is this month. thatll help but still holy shit. i dont have a lot of project money. is this a good idea. i dont know#i wish i could try one out and see if i can even use it bc theres a good chance i cant#and i have no way to know#but i also cant make all these things by hand and NO-ONE ELSE IS DOING IT#people are coming in with frostbite. people are begging for any warm clothes. its so horrible#uuuugh. i dont know. i am going to get high about it and decide later ig#input welcome i suppose#knitting#circular knitting machine#a flatbed looks like a better investment for someone with a functioning body but ive seen both in action#and literally no way can i operate a flatbed. i can barely even hold a cup. like come on.
