can relate I think. I'm right-handed but hold my pencil like I'm left-handed (odd finger placement, curled wrist, drags hand and smears ink). So my writing looks wonky unless I go really slow. I only found out recently that I was ambidextrous as a small child and that my older sister got so mad at my constant switching hands that she "chose" for me, deciding I would be right-handed like her. I'm college-age now so I don't know what to do with this new info :/
I only realized that my writing issues were a thing a few years ago when my therapist looked at my notebook, my words and letters all different sizes and how I hold a pencil and was like “uhh have you been evaluated for dysgraphia??” I didn’t even know it was a thing, I just thought I was a slob who couldn’t write pretty. But I was a really good speller and reader by 2nd grade so I guess no one ever caught it. Now thinking back it makes sense why it took me until like age 10 to learn how to tie my shoes but even then I struggled and had to do it repeatedly bc my hands would NOT listen to me xD oops
Even when I was in Japan, my friends commented on how I held the chopsticks funny and I had just thought like, “oh I’m just a dumb American... wait, but I’ve been using chopsticks since I was little. I can totally eat with them, I just hold them wrong I guess? Huh.”
