There are a lot of people that believe we should have morals when it comes to fictional characters/stories and that the storytellers should also make these fictional characters have real life morals also. But um.. not every story they tell will be one where they are politically correct/have morals because it’s a soap and soaps don’t just focus on issue based stuff. We have seen plenty of times they gloss over things if that ‘sensitive’ thing is not part of the main issue/story that they are trying to tell. If they need to get a character to do something shady/ wrong for the end result they will, and they do it because they don’t want that ‘thing’ to be taken seriously, and because that’s not what they want us to ‘focus’ (focus probably being the wrong word, but I can’t think rn) on.
I mean duh we should have ‘morals’, and for sure if this was a real life character I’d tell them to F off and/or would want them in jail but I’m not going to hold these fictional characters to the same real life morals I have since it’s not real (- just clarifying this in case I get a anon ask - no I’m not saying it’s okay for someone to get away with a crime etc 🫤🙃😂)
