hi everyone. i live in la and thankfully the fires are in cities surrounding me, not in my city, but many of my friends had to evacuate, and one of them had her house burned down

so, um, the fires are getting a little too close for comfort and we have tentative evacuation plans if need be. a riverbed less than five miles from my house is actively burning but it's "under control" at the moment, lowkey worried about the cats and where we could stay without paying an arm and a leg

the winds are so intense and i've already lost part of the fencing around my house as well as two windows 😔

We are switching our support focus over to Tiltify. Originally, it was Americares because...at the time in early January...it was the only fucking campaign I could find. Deadass, I went onto the LAFD website and they told me to go there lol.

But the Tiltify LA fire relief fund is being promoted by several content creators and it's much more efficient to reach our goals if we all focus on the same issue, so we'll be turning our efforts towards them.

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO DONATE: There are still many ways you can help. Sharing your support and solidarity means a lot and always consider reblogging or posting about relief funds like Tiltify. Do your research and be sure the funds are going towards the people.

IF YOU ARE IN SOCAL: Considering donating your time and supplies through volunteer work, food banks, and shelters. Think of the children who have lost their homes, sense of security, and privacy. It would mean the world to them and their families to help them out directly. Consider sponsoring a family to help throw little Timmy the best birthday party ever.

IF YOU ARE AN LA FIRE VICTIM: Understand you are not alone. Don't think that you are a burden or that your problems are not as bad as others. You deserve the same amount of help. Get financial assistance. Get donations. And get help. Consider talking to a support group in person or online, houses of worship are a good place to start.
