So Mamdani is increasing the NYC budget from $112 billion to a proposed $127 billion.

This is after he made a speech where he stated that NYC has a $12 billion dollar budget shortfall.

This is after the Governor has stated before and since the election that she isn’t going to sign new tax increases into law.

And now he’s saying he’s going to increase local taxes as a “last resort” to make up the difference.

He’s literally creating the crisis himself. He’s been in office less than 2 months and he’s already proposing new taxes, to cover a budget crisis he’s creating because the free stuff he promised isn’t actually free.

I lowkey tear up everytime i hear about all the good mamdani is doing for our city like this could be/is the nyc we were promised. that we came here for. he genuinely cares about the people and the community and the immigrants that built it and the working class. he is such a beautiful light in this blacked-out political climate. someone is giving the city i love so dearly and i grew up beside the time of day…because nyc is beautiful. and its becoming more beautiful everyday that man is in office
