Women’s Super Clasico between River Plate and Boca Juniors gets downright dirty
By Alberto Moreno
There are rivalries, and then there are rivalries. The Argentinean clubs River Plate and Boca Juniors rivalry is of the latter kind.
The women’s Super Clasico between River and Boca earlier this month ended in a 0-0 draw, but thanks to some horrendous officiating, the game wasn’t boring. Nope: it was downright nasty.
Immediately prior to this game, both teams were putting up amazing numbers. Over their last 4 matches, River Plate scored 24 goals and conceded 0 goals while Boca Juniors netted 45 times and allowed none as well.
So take a look here and decide which fouls merited red cards and which fouls deserved yellows:
The referee was obviously abiding by the no blood, no foul rule.
