Quick & Easy Layering Tips!
OOO! The time change is coming around and California is finally seeing the seasons change. (well…kind of)
The point is…Fall is here! And we finally get to layer up. Layering is a hobby of mine. Some have basket weaving & scrapbooking, while I have my dusty container box full of sweaters and cardigans ready for layer play!
Here are some quick tips for layering for comfort and fun!
1. Play it Up
Layering doesn’t have to be dull. Grab a bulky necklace and pair with a baggy tee and cardigan. Forever 21 has great statement pieces for prices under $20.
2. Flashdance those sweaters!
Yeah, you heard me! Grab your old sweaters or hoodies and cut them up. Fall is a great excuse to go back to the 80s and wear your off the shoulder sweaters. Pair it with an infinity scarf and boots and your ready to go! And if you really want to get in the spirit; you can get a perm!
3. Tightest At the Tummy!
Afraid to look like a fluffy marshmallow with your layering? Start with a more fitted top with your under layers. Stay tight near the tummy and start going baggy towards your second, third, fifth, sixth, SEVENTH layer!
4. Going bulky?
If you want to achieve the bulky layering look, (Large sweaters, poofy scarves, etc.) remember to keep it tight at the bottom. Cotton On and H&M has great, tight leggings for under $10!
Follow these quick and easy tips and you’ll definitely be ready for hot cocoa, thigh high socks, and fashionable Christmas tree shopping!

DIY: Tattoo Choker
The 90s are back, baby & chokers are totally in! If you’re a 90s baby like myself, you’re probably thinking to yourself, “Remember when these chokers were in the quarter machine?” (And if you don’t know what I’m talking about…then wow, I feel old!)
[Our favorite 90s babe, Melissa Joan Hart rockin’ a tattoo chocker in “Clarissa Explains It All.”]
Stores left and right are bringing back this trend at some questionable prices. Follow this tutorial and spend less money on your chokers! Let’s go back in time with your jewelry and your wallets.

What you’ll need:
Black Stretch Cord
Tape
Something to hold your bracelet on while you work.

4TH OF JULY OUTFIT: SUBTLE RED WHITE AND BLUE
Hey everyone!!! It’s summer time, and as we all know 4th of July is coming up around the corner, God Bless America!! I thought that in the spirit of Independence Day I would share a few of my favorite USA outfits. In this post, the outfit is a little more on the subtle side, no stripes or stars, but looks just as festive as any other. This outfit is perfect for almost any 4th of July activities/parties, and is super comfortable and affordable.
Shop the outfit: Top – Forever 21 (similar tops here, here and here), Shorts – H&M (in stores not online, similar shorts here and here), and Sneakers - Forever 21 (shop here).
You can pair this outfit with some simple accessories, or if you want to add some flare with stars and/or stripes then the accessories can help you achieve that look. I paired my outfit with a simple coin necklace with NY on one side, and a lightning bolt bangle from Forever 21. Stay tuned to see more of my favorite 4th of July outfits coming soon!! Let me know what you think of this outfit in the comments. Have a fabulous weekend!! Live Fiercely, XOXO!!!

Popsugar vs. SocialBliss
Today I placed my very first subscription box orders!
I like the concept of StichFix, Popsugar Must Haves, SocialBliss, Ipsy, and the list just keeps on going. Boxes are great, they usually come with a touch of personalization and you don't have to pick anything out. I like that.
I ordered the two to compare and see which I like better and how different they are. When I get them both I will have to do my first review! I am pretty excited about it. :D
No tugs, no tangles, no problem.
Summer's just around the corner and a great way to cool down in this overwhelming heat is with these no-tug hair ties!
They're fun, functional, and perfect for those high ponytails and messy buns. Just throw them in your purse, gym bag, or make-up case, and take them with you every where you go! The bonus? These babies won't leave creases in your hair and prevents breakage! No tugs, no tangles, no problem.
In this month's The Style Box for May, My Ties owner Lindsey Cortez has worked with us on creating an exclusive design.
The Socialbliss exclusive design is a charming hair tie that come in classic polka dots with a golden touch. Tie up your hair in a ponytail while relaxing in the comfort of a spa or simply wear it as a headband during your facial. To make more of a statement, dress it as a layering piece among other bracelets to show off that wrist-bliss glam!
Whether its a high, low, or braided ponytail, these creaseless hair ties will be just the right accessory to tie these looks together!
Check out My Ties for more designs and colors!
About the Designer:
Inspired by the creativity of having a product that was both functional and trendy, Lindsey Cortez created a hair accessory line called, My Ties.
As a young entrepreneur, Lindsey strived to be more imaginative with her My Tie creations, giving it a unique quality that most hair accessories lack. These handmade, hand-knotted, and hand-dyed hair ties are all customizable and can be worn as a bracelet as well as a head-wrap that’s made out of quality material leaving your hair dent free!
We did it again! This month's #TheStyleBox is worth over $200 http://bit.ly/Style-Box
