"You don’t have to change your name."
Jemma looked across the table at the older man and smiled for the first time. ”Thank you…Not that Lecter isn’t a find name, it’s just all my research and books are…well, I’m known as Jemma Simmons.”
She pushed her food around her plate, trying to think of something to talk to with him. She still couldn’t believe she was marrying him in just a a few days. It wasn’t exactly a traditional relationship to be sure.
She'd been approached by him on a professional basis. She'd helped him and had enjoyed her time with the man. He was quite charming and incredibly handsome.
It was a week after that that he'd approached her with his offer: Have his child and be paid handsomely. She had balked and laughed until he'd produced the legal contract. She'd seen the amount and nearly fainted. It wasn't just about the money though. He'd also help fund her research over the years.
And their child would know who she was, she wouldn't just have to hand the child over at birth. It did require her to marry him for the entirety of their arrangement. He did not want a bastard as he'd put it bluntly.
So, before they even began to start the invetro sessions, she was going to marry Dr. Hannibal Lecter. It was a bit daunting and utterly terrifying. She'd found him handsome, funny, and mysterious but she hadn't even thought of dating him (he would never be interested in her) much less marrying her.
Still...she could do a lot worse for the amount of money he was promising....
