You could see him staring at you from across the gym. You met his eyes for a moment before blushing and turning away, giggling and talking to your girlfriends.
It was the first time the greaser boys from the high school's gang BTS had ever shown up to a school function. Not all of them showed up, but the only one that you cared about, did.
His name was Jung Hoseok but everyone called him by his nickname, JHope. Him and all the boys in BTS had a shoddy reputation. They constantly skipped class, never did their work, and raced their cars against anyone willing to do it. They were all notoriously gorgeous too.
So even though you knew that he was no good for you, you couldn't help react this way to him staring at you. You'd had a crush on him since your first year of high school but had only talked to him on the few days he actually made it to class. There really wasn't anything else between the two of you, yet there he was, watching you.
Your friends were getting bored and wanted to leave. But you weren't ready yet. You were hoping he would make a move so you could stay. And you got your wish.
Just as your friends started to tug on your jacket, JHope walked up to you, keeping his hands tucked into the pockets of his black pants. He looked at you before tilting his head to the dance floor.
“You wanna, uh, go dance?” He asked before looking down at you.
You turned to your friends who let go of your jacket and you nodded, following him.
Everyone on the dance floor cleared a path for JHope, too afraid to do something and piss him off. He walked you out to the center of the floor before putting his hands on your waist and pulling you close to him as a slow song began. You moved to the beat of the music with him, letting him lead.
He looked around the dance floor before clicking his tongue and looking back at you. “Don'tcha talk? You haven't said a thing.”
You blushed and nodded your head. “Y-yes sorry. I guess I was just really nervous.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Nervous? ‘Bout what?”
You bit your lip. “Well, I thought I saw you staring earlier. And I was kind of really hoping you'd come ask me to dance. But I never thought you actually would.”
He chuckled before nodding. “Makes sense. Lucky for you, I'm a fella that enjoys dancing. I was just waiting for the right gal to ask.”
You looked up at him. “And what makes me the right one?”
He ran a hand through his black locks before giving you a dashing smile. “Cause you're the only one in here that ain't afraid of me and my boys.”
You let out a nervous giggle. “I wouldn't say that. I don't find you all that intimidating, but some of the other guys can get kind of scary. Suga looks like he could kill anyone with one look.”
JHope laughed, nodding his head. “Yeah, he's just got that look about him. But I'm glad you're not scared of me. But I do think you should still be a little intimidated.” He said as he brought his face closer to yours.
You blinked at him before trying to look at the ground. You weren't used to him being so close. But he put a finger under your chin and pushed it up so you had to look at him.
“I can be very intimidating when I want to.” He said softly.
Your face turned completely red and he laughed before letting your chin go. “Don’t worry doll, I won’t do nothin’. Not yet at least. I’d like to take ya out first.”
You rested your head against his shoulder as you both continued to sway to the music. You didn’t have the courage to look up at him. “I’d love to go out with you, JHope.”
He chuckled and you looked up at him, slightly confused. “You don’t really sound like you’d love to. You’re hardly even lookin’ at me,” he reached down to hold your hand and looked in your eyes. “And you can call me Hobi. You don’t have to call me by my gang name. At least not when it’s just us.”
You gave him an uneasy smile and nodded. “Hobi, right. Sorry, this is just the first time I’ve ever really danced with a guy before. I’m just nervous.”
He smiled and nodded. “I get it. Don’t worry about it darlin’. I might just be too intimidating,” he said with a fake pout on his lips.
You rolled your eyes before stepping up on your tiptoes to give Hobi a kiss on his cheek. “So about that date?”
