Hello! so I've recently found out I'm actually not comfortable with my birth gender (female) and I think I may be a boy. Today was the first time after months of anxiously thinking about it that I decided to speak about it with someone and talked about it with my therapist to which she was very supportive and relieved me a lot! but I'm still feeling kinda anxious... I don't know if this is going to sound offensive (and I apologize if it does) but I'm REALLY lost like I've been raised in a woman's house and have like no idea what a boy should like, say or do and even though I'm 90% sure I identify as one I don't know what things I should look forward to (?) I don't know if I'm clear but yeah I'm kinda hoping you can help me a bit with orienting myself in this new journey
Although somewhat frustrating and confusing, I think it’s great that you and have been able to identify yourself as being transgender.
I am so happy for you that your therapist has been so supportive, it sounds like you have an amazing therapist, and one that will help to support you in whatever you decide to bring up with her.
In regards to not knowing exactly what you can expect to being a boy, have you been able to communicate this to your therapist? If so, then maybe she will be able to refer you onto a support group with other transgenders so that you are able to get some support and advice from people who are going through what you are and others that have been through it if that makes sense? Support groups can be really good as they can show you that you are definitely not alone with what you are going through. I can only imagine how confusing and scary this all must be for you and especially with feeling as though you were born in the wrong body and being unsure how a boy should act given that you don’t have a male influence in your life due to being brought up in a female household.
In short, I would definitely talk to your therapist about this and ask her if there is a support group in your local community and if not then an online support group you could participate in.
