Loki had faced troubles in life, from fierce battles, to creatures that you could only imagine in your wildest nightmares, but he had finally met his match, his oppressor towered over him, letting out a fierce chime every time it sucked his money in.

The microwave had been his first opponent, but it was small, easily disposable, something he could throw through the nearest window at a seconds notice, but this beast... was chained to the wall, and wasn’t something he could circle in his arms easily.

The vending machine. It sat, staring him in the face every time he entered the office, and he still wasn’t certain how to use it. He kept feeding his notes into it until his wallet was empty, but nothing was happening, the cans of drink remained enclosed in their own individual prisons, taunting him through the glass.

He flattens himself against the machine in a futile attempt to get it to free his beverage, pressing his hips into it and shaking it around vigorously. Only then does he notice that he isn’t alone, Bastet is also in the office, and he gives her an agitated grimace from where he has his arms wrapped around it.

“Do you know how to operate this retched thing? It’s eaten all my money.” He stops slamming it back against the wall in favor of stepping back, in her direction to stand at her side, hands on his hips in complete dismay.
