The other major religion in my SoDM setting, and the direct counterpart to the Sailors' Faith is the Vernuite Church -- a monotheistic religion which searches for the Divine Truth that will allow them to return to the holy lands of their creator god, Verunor, after their ancestors were cast out for some unknown sin.
Creation is considered a holy act, and as such they revere creativity and the arts. Verunite chapels and cathedrals are adorned with sculptures, tapestries, paintings, and stained glass. (Think like, Michelangelo, the Vatican, Catholic churches in Rome, the most elaborate European cathedrals, the mosaics of the Hagia Sophia, etc.)
While the church claims to value honesty ("If we do not endeavor to embody truth in our own lives, how can we possibly be trusted with the Divine Truth?") and revile greed, they are deeply entwined with the Revellan government, and a single well-placed sermon or a confession in the wrong ear can set off chains of dominoes that can elevate a person to glory, or cast their name into ruin. The church's upper ranks are involved in elaborate schemes that rival even those of the Revellan noble court.
