They're all really good and I find the one that's gonna be used for the shops form here on out really interesting!

I'VE COME TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Okay, Tenna doesn't actually have an announcement, but I do!

Or more of an update on the Home Sweet Castle Town AU since chapter 5 of Deltarune is now on the horizon! Putting this below the cut as it got a bit long.

(also there will be a separate post of the Tenna image without my rambles later for those who want it haha)

Since HSCT is an AU that was written and planned out in the pre-chapter 5 era, I felt the need to discuss some things regarding this AU going forward.

Post CH 5 Plans and Changes

I still plan to work on this AU even after chapter 5 releases! But in the event that chapter 5 gets me fixated on a new idea or character or whatever, fret not! If that happens, I'll clean up my HSCT plans document and format it as a post or put it on AO3, that way I can still share the ideas I had for this AU, even if I don't get to execute them fully :D (not that this will happen, but I genuinely I have no idea what to expect from DR chapter 5, so I'm just trying to be prepared for anything! Regardless, you will get to see a conclusion to the main story ^^)

Secondly, I don't think anything major about HSCT will change. When I made the AU, I wanted it to be flexible enough that future chapter events could be fairly easy to slot in and continue as normal once the main Tenna and Mike trio storyline concludes.

This leads me to the next thing I wanted to discuss...

Clearing Up Something in an Author's Note 

This kind of sounds like I'm addressing a controversy... but it's not actually that serious lmao. Anyway, if you read the ANs in Going For Broke, you might recall this from chapter one.

And this mostly still holds true! The main point I want to discuss is the very last part in parentheses.

Back then I was still figuring certain aspects of the AU that I now have a much more solid grasp of, and I have since decided that Deltarune chapter 5 has not happened yet as of Going For Broke (and likely won't happen until after the main Tenna and Mike trio storyline concludes.)

You could think of HSCT as another route of Deltarune, or a fangame or mod someone installed as an in-universe explanation. But really, it's just the magic of fanfic that's delaying chapters 5-7 in this AU's timeline lol

I generally don't like to retcon things, but since nothing in Going For Broke or either of the oneshots mentions or hints at any chapter 5 events, and it was a rather offhanded statement in an author's note, I think it's alright here. This was something I was going to talk about in the author's note of the next book, but now that Chapter 5 is impending, I figured that I would go ahead and clear that up ^^

I was gonna add a progress update for the next major work in the AU here, but this is already pretty long, so I'll just make that it's own post.

Conclusion

If you made it this far, thanks for reading this update! Though I am beyond excited for chapter 5 of Deltarune, I was a little bummed that I didn't make as much progress on this AU as I would've liked before it came out, but ah well. Life can get hectic and I am a slow creative... not the best combo...

But, I was still able much more than I expected, and I'm proud of what I have accomplished! :D And, as mentioned, this AU is pretty flexible, so I don't think it will be completely undone by chapter 5. But even if I'm wrong, I still had fun making this and that's the important part :]

Regardless of however things will be like after chapter 5 drops, I've had a blast creating HSCT, and it has been a fantastic ride with you all! Much love from me <3

Oh, little Going For Broke update btw since it has been over a month whoops—

Chapter 6 is in progress still! I was just busy over the holidays and then I got writers block that I'm finally starting to work through. I actually did have a draft of chapter 6 written out, but I did not like it when I reread it so it underwent major changes LOL (like the whole second half had to be rewritten basically and then writers block hit midway)

Anyways, chapter 6 should be out sometime in January! Not sure when exactly, but I am determined to have it done this month! Thanks for your patience!
