Clare Balding hosts the series that takes a global look at the women's game

The new Channel 4 show Women’s Football World started at the weekend. Clare Balding rounded up the action in the Italian, English, French, German and US leagues.

Clare was based at Juventus for this episode where she interviewed Eni Aluko, Sofie Junge Pedersen and Cristiana Girelli.

Plus, Jess Fishlock talked about life at Lyon and World Champion Freestyler Liv Cooke took on Fara Williams in the first of the series long ‘Bin in to Win it’ challenge.

There were a couple of little errors but generally it’s really nice to see a show on a main UK TV channel about women’s football around the world. Looking forward to watching the rest of the series - episodes out every Saturday on Channel 4.

Clare visits Arsenal in the next episode so hopefully the woman rounding up the matches learns how to pronounce Vivianne Miedema - it’s not hard!

It may be geo-blocked to the UK but a VPN should get round that.
