(1/2) I think the big problem with su critical is tumblr has this absurd absolutist culture where nothing can be nuanced or complicated, something is either all bad or all good. So you have people who refuse to acknowledge flaws bc they think su is a good show and people who acknowledge ONLY flaws bc they think su is bad. I am a freakin su podcast host and I criticize su all the time on air. I’ll say I dont like this character, this episode wasnt to my taste, some theme was done poorly, etc.,

(2/2) but I have no problem understanding that no media is perfect and that they can’t cater the entire show to me. There’s a huge difference between saying “I didn’t like this part, I would have prefered they’d done it this way” and “this part is bad, crewniverse rly fucked up I’m boycotting”. Subjectivity and context is a thing that tumblr cannot understand at all, it’s absurd.

it really is an all or nothing attitude when it comes to this website, there’s a troublesome understanding of middle ground just in general. but yeah disliking small parts comes with consuming media in general, everyone has bits and pieces of stuff they dont like. but people on here seem to think that just cause there’s one flaw means they have to take it personally and dislike everything else as a result.

@sofireous used my cat Molly’s collar as a placeholder for a paper that read “will you marry me? -sophia (not molly)” to give to her girlfriend @the-groundskeeper. It might be hard to hear, but she said yes.
