=> Zeke: Get cursed.
You're not sure where you are. It's an empty street with a single street light shedding it's dim light on the pavement below. You approach it, feet moving of their own accord until you're standing right under the flickering lamp. You raise a hand to shield your eyes as the light grows brighter and brighter until suddenly the bulb bursts, and the ground crumbles beneath your feet.
Suddenly it's cold. It's quiet. You can't see, you can't hear, you can't even feel anything. There are no walls, no floor, no light; just an endless, soundless void suffocating you and consuming your entire being.
You try to call out, in some feeble attempt for some sort of connection to anything other than your blank mind slowly filling with static as you feel the panic start to rise within you.
No, no, no.
You clutch your chest, fist balling in fabric that doesn't feel quite right to the touch, so thin it may as well not exist at all. You have nothing to ground yourself, nothing to keep you sane as the tears start to well up in your eyes.
You're scared. Terrified. Helpless.
Alone.
Suddenly a ringing noise breaks through the silence and pierces your brain, making you cover your ears to try to block it out. It doesn't work.
You can't take it. It's too much for you. You start to break down, letting tears flow freely down your cheeks as you sob, suspended in the void.
-
You wake with a start, sitting up in bed in a cold sweat. Just a nightmare. It was just a nightmare. It's fine, you're safe, there's nothing to worry about.
But it felt so real.
Picking up your phone on your bedside table, you give the clock only a cursory glance before dialing a number.
“...Hhey, Fin? It’s Zeke.”
