I adore Bagginshield, but I think what stays with me the most – and what always hits me the most – is whenever they’re so soft and gentle with each other?!

As much as I adore passionate/desperate “you’re alive you’re alive you’re alive” and “stay with me” and “just kiss me already, you fool” scenes (not to mention other hot stuff™) – just bury me in soft glances and tender touches, in Thorin and Bilbo holding each other in their arms, in both of them comforting each other wordlessly, just by being near the other, in forehead touches and feather-light kisses and whispered promises …
