After spending an entire day at the park, cuddling with Hendery and messing around on a picnic blanket, it was now dark outside. All of the lamp posts were on and shining, and the stars up in the sky were trying their best to shine too.
“That one looks like you,” Hendery said, pointing to the dimmest star that he could find.
“Wow, that’s so mean,” you said, lightly punching his shoulder.
“I’m just joking!” he said, laughing. He moved his finger to a star with a powerful glow. “That one, the brightest star is you.”
Then his finger continued to move to the right until it touched your nose.
“Actually,” he said, still pointing at you. “This star is even brighter than the ones in the sky.”
You were blushing and melting with each word he said, like strawberry ice cream on a hot day.
He moved closer to you until your noses were almost touching. As he gently caressed your cheek, his hushed voice seemed to be the only thing you could hear.
“I can see myself in your eyes,” he exclaimed. You could see yourself in his, too. The two of you like mirrors that would only reflect each other.
“I look so good,” he said, squaring his jaw, pursing his lips and giving you a wink. You broke into laughter and so did Hendery, who rolled off the blanket and got coated in a layer of grass.
When you offered to help him clean the grass off his back, he kissed your nose softly and said, “you’re my whole world. You know that, right?”
