Soft Sector October 1984
Along with its telecommunications articles, this issue offered an introduction to assembly language, explained how to use one of the Sanyo 550/555's bundled programs, and had a type-in game by someone who'd tried some IBM PC games ("including Flight Simulator") and found they didn't work on the Sanyo.
Soft Sector July 1985
Lonnie Falk provided the editorial in this issue, describing how there'd been some sales management team turnover at Sanyo with someone from Compaq becoming national sales manager. This would involve cracking down on just who would be able to sell Sanyo computers by mail. While the cover illustration suggests the MBC-550 and MBC-555 were small-footprint computers designed to fit beneath their monitors, someone who kept his monitor on a shelf elevated above his desk described how he'd mounted the system unit vertically on the side of his desk.

Whether or not the skewed scan complements the cover art, this issue did include a machine-language type-in program to patch Microsoft Flight Simulator, that sine qua non of "PC compatibility," to run on the Sanyo MBC-555 (which had two floppy drives as compared to the MBC-550's one). It also just so happened to have a type-in biorhythms program, which had been a go-to for years.

A new "transportable" computer from Sanyo featured on the cover of this issue. The MBC-675 was "to the best of my knowledge, at the time this is being written, the smallest IBM-compatible transportable on the market"; it did make do with "an excellent seven-inch display."

Saint Nick puts another computer to use on the cover of this games-heavy issue (and also manages to subtly plug the Delphi online service), although the artwork just happens to invoke the text mode colours of the Radio Shack Colour Computer.
Soft Sector June 1986
A type-in CAD program provided the cover story for this issue. Ed Eller's editorial contrasted the program to "CAD systems costing $10,000 and up" and also mention Sanyo was bringing out a "long-awaited answer to the IBM Personal Computer AT," the MBC-990. Promises that it would be examined in the July issue, though, run into how that issue isn't available on the Internet Archive. A type-in version of Othello mentioned "the logic used for it" had first been designed for a different problem solving the Knight's Tour.

The features in this issue weren't quite as business-focused as the cover illustration might have implied; a type-in adventure game happened to be picked out on the cover. In the "Soft Soapbox" editorial, Belinda Kirby explained that Kevin Nickols was moving on to a new magazine from Falsoft, VCR, The Home Video Monthly, which would be more focused on entertainment becoming available for home video than "setting up an ideal system."
