Soft Step is one of the oldest kids in the ballet class and he's often called older brother by the other kids in the class. Many seek him out to help learn steps and just hang out with him. He's friendly and a lil flustered by the idea that all his classmates look up to him.

38. Is your character more likely to remove a problem/threat, or remove themselves from a problem/threat? | Soft Step / Alton / Crystal Lyne / North Star

“problem” and “threat” are two vastly different things lmao, let’s see

Soft Step:A problem is a challenge you gotta’ work at... or own up to. Either way, it’s something that should be dealt with. Step’s a practical pony who’ll resolve (remove??) a problem as best he can.

A real threat is more than he could ever really handle, though. He (and anypony else he’s with) is more likely to get away from it as fast as possible.

Alton:Problem, threat, problematic threat... Alton knows how to read a situation to determine what he thinks is the best course of action. That said, stubborn pride in his appearances will always make him more likely to address/remove any problem or threat in his way.

Crystal Lyne:Crystal Lyne is just a little filly! She hasn’t really learned how to address any problems in her life, and as such will always try to remove herself from them first. Threats are the same.

North Star:He’s a very show-offy pony. If there’s an audience, North is hardly shy to give his talents some flare, whether it’s diplomacy, problem-solving, magic, whatever. He’s willing to so graciously tackle any problem or threat in the vicinity.

On his own, North picks his battles pretty evenly. Problems are usually worked through, while threats are abandoned immediately.

Step: S-snakes..! They’re so s-slimey-lookin’! An’ how do they move like that?! They got no legs!

Step: I guess you could say so! But I don’t really eat too many confectioneries. I really like carrot cake, tho...!

Alton: .... (annoyed pouting)

Alton’s diet is mostly sweets because he is a child at heart poor decision-maker sometimes and bc he enjoys cake too much.

Alton’s obviously got the most obvious relation to that fact so...Soft Step lives on the outskirts of Ponyville! He’s far enough that he lives alone w/ few or no neighbors, but he’s close enough to visit the town regularly.

I don’t really understand “major OC’s” so I’m just... gonna’ do a few ponies bc this is kind of a vague Q.

9. Name some of their major physical shortcomings.

Alton: small size & statureAlton is a small pony. Short & (what most ponies would consider) petite, but not slim or lanky. It’s not uncommon for other ponies to forget about him or simply not notice him around. Take it a step further, and you’d fine it’s hard for him to be taken with complete seriousness sometimes.

Other than that (which isn’t really even an issue), he’s in near-perfect health, physically.

Crystal: dexterityCrystal Lyne has got spunk in spades, and a lot of energy to deal with. Like a lot of foals, boundless energy just leads to clumsiness. Being a hippogriff, she has both claws and wings to coordinate, which can be tricky to teach herself to maneuver around sometimes.

This is more of an issue with age, though. Just something for her to grow into.

Step: deformity & dexteritySoft Step’s clearly out of the ordinary for an Earth Pony. Born with six legs, he gets the benefit of spreading out the pressure on his hooves one has from standing, walking, or running better than the average pony. The trade-off is having an overlapping gait, often tripping himself up when moving any faster than a trot.

Dusk: poor eyesightDusk Skies’ eyesight just... sucks. Especially for a pegasus, even. It’s kind of a big deal. He really should be wearing glasses, but he’s a stubborn fella. I can’t even really fluff this one up, that’s all there is to it.
