since the end of the war, persephone kept a closer eye on her family. she always understood her own mother’s protectiveness - horrible things happened all the time, and she did her damndest to shelter persephone away from the brunt of it. she couldn’t even begin to imagine demeter’s feelings when her daughter vanished into thin air, gone.

now she knew. persephone knew, so clearly it might’ve been tempered glass separating her mother’s experience from her own. hades wouldn’t hurt her, he never hurt her, they did hurt her babies. so if persephone checked on them all several times throughout the night, she had reason. hades never stopped her, either. he joined her every time. heard their breath with her.
