something interesting that happened to me a while ago is i got myself out of bounds!

i did this by accidentally perfectly timing a crystal dash off the elevator here! do you have any info on the hitboxes for how this would happen?

There's an invisible wall around the elevators in city, which can stop your cdash for some reason. After you hit the wall the elevator pushed you into the ceiling. You can do this on other city elevators too! The ones below spire are a common one.

I was going to try to point out which one the invisible wall is, but honestly, Team Cherry probably doesn't even know. 80% sure it's the cyan one, though.

It is possible to softlock yourself in the Crossroads aspid arena by shade souling the first aspid while outside of it, preventing the second wave from spawning.

To do this in vanilla, you would have to leave Crossroads through either itemless baldur kill or going out of bounds, depending on whether or not you enjoy major glitches. From there, it's trivial to obtain dash and claw, tram to city, access Sly through Blue Lake, make a crystal peak trip for shopkeeper's key, buy elegant key from Sly, obtain Shade Soul, and stag back to Dirtmouth.

Can't believe Team Cherry didn't plan for this, smh.

Gruz Mother's "babies" are stored out of bounds until they're spawned in at the end of the fight. After they're killed by the player, the arena doors will open. We can softlock ourselves inside of the arena by going out of bounds and killing them before the fight begins, making it impossible for the game to spawn them in.

Last time: cooldown from the culmination of a plotline, and then everyone coming together to Fix That Airship Lyner Crashed At The Start Of The Game And Then Sort Of Abandoned In The Woods.

(okay, sure, the mayor of that small village whose name I forget said he'd keep an eye on it, but still)

(all this was before I started liveblogging/LPing it)

Anyway. Then we went off alone with Aurica (not like that, you) and found that she was in fact very annoyed about the outfit we'd put her in (a towel, so, fair, what the heck Gust). And now we're there, or a hill (Monument Hill) near there!

Nice place. Roamed around a bit, nothing much came up (just random encounters and barely-hidden treasure), and in fact going here was completely optional. But there's enough of a map we'd probably have to come back anyway.

But, on the walk out: a Metal Pom!

Turned out pretty easy to kill. Nothing special within the grade-1 and grade-2 drops. Maybe if we delayed to get all four?

But then, walking a little farther towards the end of the last room on the map – sudden transition to another room, no marked path! Neat. Got a Soleil Stone – probably a crucial crafting material for a plot thing, description just says "A stone from the monument on the Tail of Reminiscence. That is the only place you can get them."

Had a worry that this might be a softlockable thing, did a search. Apparently it is in fact linked to a softlock, but only in Misha's route for this section... reloaded the save from before picking it up, anyway, just in case. Better safe than sorry!
