okay because of your post i watched honor society today and. MAYBE I CRIED. do you have any other recs ??? 👀

ILYYYY you're such a legend for actually watching it... cool ppl cry over honor society it's just a fact!!ok um here are three movies I think are similar <3

- spontaneous - high school movie about love and loss and growing up and you will cry your fucking eyes out... it's SO good it drives me crazy. if you don't like a lot of blood though u might wanna skip this one. but for ME having a coming of age romance include copious amounts of blood and guts is an insane slay. I mean that's just what leaving high school is like!!!

- love and monsters - written by the same guy as spontaneous we love you brian. it's about love! and monsters! and dylan o brien in beautiful green post apocalyptic scenery with a dog as his bestie!

- the kid who would be king - these are all associated w honor society for me because I'm connecting the thread of the truth at the centre of the universe (it's love) and while this is the most different in genre and style and tone (notably a family movie, not teens or older) it's literally just a lovely story about being kind to the people around you and having love and compassion in your heart which is also the core of honor society to ME 🫂 the kids ARE alright, actually! beautiful + funny little movie that really flew under the radar when it first released

just generally, any scenes that jeff and shirley have together bc i honestly believe that they bring out the best in each other. like i LOVE jeff’s closing statement speech in the s3 finale it just makes me 🥺

also from the season 3 finale, when troy fixes the air conditioner in the booth of death or whatever and he turns down the temperature of the guy he’s dueling with.. oh god i love TROY

of course the final roxanne scene in remedial chaos theory

before abed falls into the lava.. when he says “i don’t wanna be crazy but i am crazy, so” that ALWAYS makes me LOSE IT

after annie moves into the apartment and they make her room all nice and the SHADOW PUPPETS.. they literally all love each other so much i’m gonna cry

at the end of pillows and blankets when jeff says something along the lines of “and i realized i would do anything for my friends. and i realized that’s how most people feel. and it made me finally understand war.” bro...........
