❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
Thick snowflakes swirl around you, the ice crunching under your feet as your gaze flies over the windows of the building down the street. As you get closer, you can see it clearly, light spilling out from the right window on the ground floor. He's home.
You slip twice before you reach the house, hurrying past the parked cars and up the small flight of stairs that is also glazed over with ice, keeping your head down and your coat wrapped tightly around your body. When you reach the front door, you fumble with your keys for a moment, your hands shaking from both the cold and the adrenaline.
A curse escapes your lips as the bundle of keys falls down and you lean forward to grab it before settling for the doorbell instead of giving it another try. It's mere seconds until the door buzzes open and you push yourself into the dimly lit hallway of the apartment building. The wind howls around you, even after the large door has fallen shut, seemingly finding a way through the cracks around it.
“Hermosa?”
His door is slightly ajar, brown hair and a pink shirt poking out at the side of it. You practically storm towards him and you can tell by the way he flexes his arm that he's holding his gun, carefully checking who is showing up on his doorstep this late at night.
“It's me, calm down,” you brush him off as you reach the door and all but push yourself inside. Javier steps back, staring at you for a moment. His voice is a little lower than usual, which in your experience means one of two things. He's horny or he's mad. Occasionally a bit of both.
“Are you crazy, going out in this weather? I was worried sick.”
Mad it is.
You barely look at him as you shake your head, “I just wanted to get some more bread, we were out again and I didn’t know if the stores might close-” His gaze is on your face for a moment, resting on your slightly reddened cheeks, the slowly melting snowflakes that decorate both your hair and your coat.
But that is what he stumbles over- the coat. Your arms are wrapped around yourself and the thick fabric is drawn over a lump that definitely does not belong to your body.
“What did you get?” Javier tucks the front of the coat down just as you turn away, sending a glare into his direction, “Don't scare it.”
“It?” Javi asks and you can practically see his brain going haywire as he tries to figure out what you’re talking about. The agent is so goddamn smart when it comes to tracking down informants and exposing cartel members but the most normal conclusions sometimes seem like a mystery to him.
His furrowed brows relax slightly when you peel the coat off yourself carefully and he is left staring at a trembling ball of fur in your arms. Very dirty, brown fur.
“Oh hermosa-” He starts but you shake your head before he even has the chance to complain. Bogotá has more than a few stray cats and dogs but so far, he has managed to keep you from taking any of them home.
“She was all alone, Javi, in the snow. She would’ve frozen to death,” you mumble. As if to confirm your story, the kitten gives a small, strangled noise and you hum quietly.
Javier follows you into the bathroom, watching with crossed arms as you place the animal in the bathtub and begin to run the water, adjusting the temperature with one hand. The cat trashes around slightly, clearly uncomfortable with the cold porcelain below her and the attention of not one but two humans. Her claws strike your hand, making you curse as a thin trail of blood runs down your fingers.
“What are you doing?” Javier asks in a low voice, clearly exasperated. But you're not exactly calm either, your own hands still cold from the snow and now stinging slightly from where the cat has struck you.
“I’m taking a bath,” you say with a roll of your eyes, voice dripping with irony. “I’m cleaning the fucking cat, Javi, what does it look like?!”
You don't need to see his face to know you're not the only one in the bathroom who looks like they've been struck. There's a small shuffle next to you as Javi closes the door behind himself and then kneels down beside you with a low groan, “Okay, how do we do this?”
A weak smile spreads over your face as you bring both hands back to the cat that has by now joined in on the conversation, audibly meowing up at both of you as you gently stroke its back, “I'll hold her, you run the water and get some soap.”
He does as told, filling the tub up just a bit so that the small animal can still stand. To your surprise, she doesn't seem to mind the water as much as a cat should. In fact, she almost seems to enjoy the warmth of it around her small paws.
Javier seems to pick up on it too, “I thought cats don't like baths.”
“I guess not all of them?” You offer as he hands you the bar of soap and you begin to gently run it over the matted fur below your hands.
“Are we sure it's a cat?”
His voice is so serious that you can't help but laugh as you elbow his side, “Javi-”
“I'm just saying, hermosa. It could be a- an oddly shaped, brown raccoon.”
It does not turn out to be an oddly shaped raccoon. As the dirt comes off, layer after layer, staining the once white tub a gentle brown, it doesn't even turn out to be a brown cat.
The orange fur is dripping wet, making the small thing look even more pitiful than it had when you had spotted it hiding from the snow below a bench. At least the attempts to further scratch you have died down, the cat seemingly content to be warmed up and cared for.
“Hold on, I'll get a bigger towel,” you mumble and head to the small cabinet in the hallway. As you grab a well-worn one and pull it out, you hear a low voice coming from the bathroom, one that makes your head turn and hold still as you peek past the door frame.
“You're still shaking, peluda,” Javi whispers, crouched over the tub to gently brush his fingers through the dripping fur, no doubt not realizing you can hear him, “We’ll get you nice and warm, don't you worry.” A tiny meow comes as reply and he tuts softly, “Todavía no estoy seguro si eres un gato. You may fool her but not me. I'm an agent, you know? I can see right-” He punctuates his words with a soft, gentle pat on the cat's head, “- through - you.”
Your heart feels like it's about to jump out of your chest. You've never heard Javi talk to anyone so gently, anyone except yourself. And even then, it's usually reserved for when you're alone, tucked away in bed in the dark, tracing the skin of the person beside you.
A few minutes later you're seated in the living room, the tiny cat wrapped in a big towel on your lap as Javier hands you a baby bottle filled with some milk - both borrowed from the Murphy’s upstairs, who had both been equally confused when Javi had shown up on their doorstep to ask for both.
“Come on, peluda,” you reassure the kitten gently, repeating the nickname Javi used for her earlier, and very carefully, she begins to drink. The taste of the lukewarm milk seems to agree with her because after a few moments, the small sucks on the bottle becomes more eager and silence falls over the apartment, only interrupted by the small noises of the furball on your lap.
Javier is still standing in the open kitchen, watching as you feed the animal, occasionally reassuring her with a gentle pat or a different angle of the bottle.
He swallows, trying to get the realization that his head is producing back down into his stomach, the scenarios running in front of his eyes away from the surface. But there is no un-knowing the things he knows, no way to get rid of them.
He wants children.
It's not a possibility, not in Colombia, not with the cartel so close. Maybe it won't be one for a few years to come, until things are more quiet, until he has fixed everything he needs to fix. Including himself.
But as he watches you, the ever-growing wish settles in his throat, placing itself dangerously close to his mouth. Javi swallows again. He doesn't want it to slip out. Not yet, anyway.
He stands there, content to just watch as the cat eagerly takes one sip after another until the bottle is empty and the ball of orange fur purrs gently as it settles onto your knees, eyes already drooping.
Your voice is quiet as you urge him to come closer and with a small sigh, Javi settles down next to you, his arm automatically wrapping around your shoulder. He doesn't realize how close the picture of the three of you is to what he might have in a few years, minus a round stomach or a non-furry little companion on your lap. It's okay. He can wait.
“Can she stay?” You almost beg, your eyes finally leaving the kitten in front of you to wander to Javi instead. He sighs softly, both of you looking at each other. Then, his gaze leaves your face.
Brown puppy eyes meet green kitten eyes. They look at each other for a moment. Then Javi nods, “Yeah. She can stay.”
notes: shoutout to the person on my discord who said "funny, normally javi is happy to see a pussy" (i love you)
also: do not give kittens cow milk (unless theyre starving and theres a snowstorm i guess?) idk this is no vetinary advice, google that shit if you ever bring home a kitten to your dea agent husband.

Joel Miller
Joel is actually surprisingly good at giving presents. He'll pay extra attention to what you're saying or what you may need in the weeks before Christmas.
During patrol, he keeps an eye out for your favorite foods and products, storing them away into his backpack to add them to the ever-growing list of presents for you.
He prefers giving to getting, even though he's always more than thankful when it comes to his own presents. But nothing beats the look his loved ones get in their eyes when they unwrap a present from him and it's just the perfect one, showing just how well Joel knows them.
Come Christmas Eve, there's at least half a dozen small packages waiting under the Christmas Tree for you. Joel loves to spoil you.
He gets creative as well, making use of his woodworking skill to add a few more personal gifts to the pile, carving you small figurines of your favorite animals.
Javier Peña
Javi gets lost at least three times while he visits the mall to go Christmas shopping. He does not like the over-crowded stores at all but he knows he needs to find something that let's you know just how much you mean to him.
When asked about his own wishes for Christmas, he only asked for a pack of Malboros (needless to say, he gets a few packs AND a proper present).
He's about to pick out a frangrance that seems like you'd like it when he runs into Connie. She instantly sees that he looks like a fucking lost puppy in between all the products and options and takes pity.
She helps him pick out a few things you'll actually like and even reminds him to grab some wrapping paper. She also promises to not tell you about her helping out a little bit.
You're blown away by the gifts he picked for you, trying not to show how surprised you are he actually knew what to pick.
At the DEA's Christmas Party, you run into Connie. She just winks when you ask her if she'd been helping Javi. You both never tell him.
Dieter Bravo
Dieter thinks about whether or not to get you drugs (he doesn't).
He loves giving gifts that he knows will benefit him as much as they do you- something for your shared apartment or something for you to wear.
There's a cozy sweater and a hat from your favorite brand under the Christmas Tree, but there is also some more ... naughty clothing.
You like dressing up a little for Dieter, teasing him more than once throughout Christmas-time by suggesting to get one of those little red and white outfits that would perfectly highlight your figure.
He gets you a few, unable to decide on just one when he begins to imagine how good you'd look in them.
Dieter and you both name the white lace one as your favorite, detailed with little, glittering snowflakes all over the fabric.
Needless to say, the rest of the presents dont get unwrapped until the second day of Christmas.
Din Djarin
Din is absolutely lost when it comes to presents. The two of you are inseperable, which doesn't really make secretly buying something easier.
The opportunity presents itself when you decide to shop for some new clothes and he gets a little while to himself.
A Mandalorian wandering around the aroma and lotion shop turns heads but Din can't bring himself to care. He tries a few items, holding them below his helmet so that he can take a whiff.
He settles on a set of lotions and creams that smell refreshing, a note of pine in them. You always prefer the wooded planets to the desert ones so he hopes that it's a safe pick.
You love it more than he expects - and he does too. For the next few weeks, his entire ship seems to smell like the store did, fresh and gentle, and you seem surrounded by the scents he got you. It begins to smell like home.
He insists, as soon as you have used the bottles up, to go back and get you new ones, stocking up on the lotions and soaps and oils. If you ever leave, he tells himself, he'll at least remember the smell.

❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
Joel Miller
Joel may not show it but he actually likes Christmas traditions. It can't be anything too big or fancy but there's a few small things he remembers about Christmas in his own childhood that he continues with Sarah and later with Ellie.
After the outbreak, he doesn't celebrate. Not just Christmas, he doesn't celebrate anything for years. By the time his first Christmas with Ellie rolls around, he is already badly injured. He doesn't even realize it's Christmas Eve.
The next year, with both of them living safely in Jackson, he makes up for it best he can, agreeing to join a Christmas dinner hosted by Tommy and Maria.
You've met before but this is one of the first occasions where you begin talking. It's only months later that you realize you may not have been seated next to each other by accident.
Tommy and Joel contribute to the night with a tradition from their childhood. After dinner, they bring out Luminarias, handmade Christmas lanterns that they've evidently prepared in secret. The other lights are dimmed and the entire house is bathed in soft, orange light.
He ends up on an armchair by the window with you perched on the armrest and you both sip your drinks in the dim light while the other guests slowly file out. Joel swears that it cements the lights as his favorite tradition.
Javier Peña
Christmas, for Javi, usually means a trip back home to meet the family. Born and raised in Texas, it's one of the most important parts of Christmas: Everyone being together, despite their differences.
Colombia and the cartel case are a welcome excuse to not take part in the family gatherings. Every time he does visit Laredo, which only totals to three times during his time in Bogotá, he can't stand the way people look at him.
When he goes back after Cali, he doesn't even make it through half of the gathering. There have been too many drinks emptied and too many questions asked and he is back in his truck before anyone can notice he's disappeared.
Four years later marks the first time he does show up for Christmas again, with you by his side and proudly showing off the noticeable bump under your sundress.
You think he's joking when he whispers to you that night, explaining that his new favorite Christmas tradition is keeping you stuffed and spending all of Christmas Eve next to the tree, hands caressing your stomach to feel for movement from his baby
He isn’t joking. Three years in a row, the timing aligns perfectly and like clockwork, a baby is born every spring. It's definitely not the worst tradition you can think of.
After a satisfying number of babies however, the tradition shifts back to its origin: Gatherings with the whole family. And you have quite the family to show off with three little ones and Javi by your side.
Dieter Bravo
Dieter loves having you over for Christmas at his house in the Hollywood Hills. It starts innocently enough, with Covid ruining plans for any other possible get-together.
He orders enough food to last for days, rolls a generous joint for you to share and puts on a Hallmark Christmas movie for giggles.
It ends up getting you both in the feels, despite ticking off every possible cliché. By the time the credits roll around, Dieter's body is pressed against yours, both of you sinking back into the fluffy couch pillows.
The next three days are an intangible mess made up of cheese, weed and sex. In no particular order.
For once, no agent calling disturbs the bubble the two of you have created for yourselves and when New Year's rolls around, you both vow to repeat the same kind of Christmas next year.
Din Djarin
Din doesn't really know or celebrate Christmas until you and Grogu come along. When you start decorating and making a few purchases, he grumbles slightly but lets you go through with it.
To your (and his) surprise, he doesn't hate the decorating. It's a nice change of pace to just sit for a while, make chains of popcorn and dried fruits and watch the child play with a few of the Christmas decorations while you consider the best spot for the tree.
Din does help with all that you can't reach and with securing everything so that your whole work won't be ruined the second the ship takes off.
It's dark outside when you are finally done, Grogu napping below the tree after wearing himself out. Din lifts you onto his shoulders almost effortlessly, allowing you to place the golden star on top of the tree while he watches.
You light the tree together afterwards, the twinkling lights reflecting in his beskar armor, multiplying the light by what seems to be a million and it makes your knees weak.
Every following year, a beautiful tree decorates your living quarters. You both pretend it's something you only do for Grogu. You both know it's not.

Summary: How do the Pedro characters spend Christmas Eve with you? Some ideas!
Relationships: Joel Miller x Reader, Silva x Reader, Javi Gutierrez x Reader

❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
Joel Miller
With Joel, Christmas Eve is quiet. It's the first year that Ellie has not been with him, instead opting to have a small party with Cat and a few others.
The poor man is absolutely oblivous to Ellie's reasons at first and it's not until you carefully bring up the topic of teenagers being teenagers that he understands. He doesn't mention it again.
The two of you opt for a nice dinner by yourself, Joel helping you with the cooking before presenting you with a nice bottle of wine he found on patrol a few weeks ago.
After dinner, you let him choose a movie (mentally already retiring to the idea of watching one that was already considered old when the outbreak happened). It's not half bad though, with Joel cuddled up next to you and the small Christmas tree in the corner smelling like fresh pine.
Joel misses the second half of the movie when he falls asleep, silently cursing when you wake him up to drag him to bed as the credits roll.
He complains like a child, not wanting to end the evening already, especially since you don't have plans for Christmas morning. So you both settle for a cup of coffee, Joel pulling out his guitar and softly strumming a few songs.
He rarely plays in front of you (or anyone) and so it feels like a Christmas present in itself. You give him one in return, one that also involves the mouth, even if it's not used for singing.
You both fall asleep at the same time, curled up in bed and more relaxed than you've been in a while.
Silva
Silva goes to church on Christmas Eve. He has since he was a young boy and despite not believing in everything that is preached, he finds something in the sense of community.
He enjoys seeing old friends, folks who have made the trip for the holiday and it usually takes a fair bit of time until he's made his rounds after the service ends.
You tag along, for the first time. You try and not make it too obvious that you aren't exactly a church person, haven't been for years. He notices anway. And he promises to make it up to you afterwards.
He does. Silva decks the small ranch house out with candles, wax dripping practically everywhere. You don't realize quite how much work he's put into it until you return from the stables and find the house glowing, the warm light becoming more intense as darkness falls around you.
There's food, too. Some that he's evidently stored away for this occasion and you genuinely wonder how he's managed to keep it hidden this entire time.
You hum songs together, wrapped into your handmade blankets as you sit in the glow of the candles, just content to sit and be still with each other.
He makes love to you on the bed, taking his time with undressing you, kissing your body for what feels like hours.
When the candles have all burned out, you're certain he has kissed every inch of your body, touched all of you, and in that moment, you silently wish that he never, never leaves you, that he'll always be there to kiss you and hold you and be kissed and be held.
He continues lighting candles every year. Even after you're gone.
Javi Gutierrez
During Christmas time, Javi happens to be fucking head over heels for you. He takes you to Christmas-themed events and markets all throughout december.
It's during one of those markets that he stumbles over a Paddington book, the cover complete with a Christmas tree and the small bear in his blue coat.
You hurriedly buy it when he heads to the toilet a few minutes later, already eager to see his eyes when he unwraps his present on Día de los Reyes.
On Nochebuena, there is a feast unlike one you've ever seen. Javi has gone all out, wanting to leave a good impression on you but also give his family a nice opportunity to meet you.
There is a perfectly roasted Pularda Asada, a truffle-stuffed turkey that has you audibly exclaiming how much you love sharing this tradition.
Javi shows you around, introducing you to everyone of importance, his hand always on your lower back for support (both mentally and physically).
You talk a walk as the party slowly begins to die down, wandering through the woods around the estate, hand intertwined and listening to the music and voices drifting over to you, mixing with the sounds of the sea.
It's everything you imagined it to be, though you know that with Javi by your side, you'd even take a Christmas Eve dinner consisting of nothing but a piece of bread. Lucky for you though, your man spoils you all throughout the evening, leaving you stuffed for hours afterwards. It's well worth it.
Joel and Sarah go crazy. Like actually crazy. They pick the biggest tree they can find, more than once needing to cut it to make it fit through the door.
Decorations are colorful and a little worn. There have been many odd bulbs or accessories added throughout the years after spotting them on Christmas Markets or in stores.
The first time you get to join in for the ceremony that is the decorating process, you silently sit back and mostly watch, in awe at how well the two work together while Sarah blasts her favorite Christmas CD on repeat.
Hot chocolate and cookies are included- and a surprise guest in the form of Tommy, who spontaneously joins in.
It feels like your first real glance into the family gatherings of the Millers and when Joel steps back to pull you into his side while Sarah is on Tommys shoulders, placing the final star on top of the tree, you have to bite back the tears.
Javier Peña
Javi doesnt really want a Christmas tree. He's been in a bad mood all week and when you bring it up at exactly the wrong moment - he practically barks at you over how unnecessary those stupid trees are, anyway.
Your eyes immediately let him know he's made a mistake. The apology that night is followed by a long series of more physical apologies during the night.
The next weekend, he takes you shopping in a huge mall outside of Bogotá, letting you pick out all kinds of lights and accessories for your tree.
Of course he helps with putting everything up, setting up the tree himself under only a few series of cusswords while he asks you to go and grab both of you some wine.
(You end up helping him with setting up the tree, turns out it's a lot easier with two people.)
Then, you decorate. And he is awfully considerate about how to decorate, trying to make sure that everything is exactly how it should be.
You assure him everything is. Everything really is.
Dieter Bravo
Dieter almost cuts his own hand off while trying to cut down your Christmas tree. It's a Christmas tree farm just outside of the small ski town you're staying at and he almost drags you there, never before having cut his own tree.
You swear that if he leaves with less than ten fingers, it will also be the last time he cuts his own tree. For both your luck, he manages to keep all of them.
It's snowy and he ties the tree to a sled, takes your hand in his and begins to lead the way, away from the trees and back to your small cabin.
You decorate together, despite it taking a few hours when you both get distracted by another snowfall and rush outside to try and catch snowflakes with your tongues.
You get distracted again in the shower you take together afterwards.
Just before midnight however, you light the tree, with you leaning against his shoulder, pressing a soft kiss to his skin. He nuzzles your ear in return and then taked you right back to bed, with a slightly lopsided, green tree watching over you as you cuddle up.
