Summary:

Steve finally thinks he has an answer, but it may involve a wish.

Bucky’s a genie who was trapped in a bottle. HYDRA found his bottle and made him into the Winter Soldier by binding him with a metal arm, turning him from a granter of three wishes into a permanent magic slave. They lost his bottle, Steve found it, and became Bucky’s new master. HYDRA eventually found them and through a series of events Bucky was freed from both HYDRA and the bottle. Along the way Bucky came to trust Steve and love him as much as Steve loves him. Sam and Natasha are Steve’s BFFs. Bucky only has one arm.

Six months rent-free to do nothing but draw and paint and wander the countryside, looking for inspiration? It was like a dream. But when he gets lost in a storm and nearly falls into a pond he starts to rethink the whole like a dream aspect of life in the country. And when a red-eyed, sharp-clawed, silver-fanged creature rises out of the darkness, Steve is one hundred percent certain the dream's morphed into a nightmare.
...until it gives him a cup of tea.
(Inspired partly by this prompt a supernatural creature is supposed to scare you but instead it gives you a cup of tea and a blanket because you're having a bad day and you keep coming back and partly by this painting.)
My third @softstuckyweek fic! This one got a bit wriggly, so it’s not so soft as I thought it was going to be when I started it (slippery little sucker), but it’s all good at the end!
