Greetings
Greetings from a software grad student, who works and is trying to have a life... I’m hoping to document my learning journey #gradschoolstruggles
One semester down, 3 to go…
A look back at my first semester as a software engineering graduate student…
.
Classes I took:
Advanced Object Oriented Programming
Software Requirement Engineering
Software Project Management
.
Midterm exam marks:
AOOP => 87/100
SPM => 86/100
SRE => 84/100
.
How it went:
AOOP: at first it was mostly revising, I could do weekly assignments no problem, even though my schedule was not ideal, going work then school sometime made it impossible for me to stay awake to do assignments, but having classes 3 days a week was a huge advantage.
The only part that I’m not happy with it end of semester group project, it was too far at the end and I couldn’t dedicate enough time to it, my friend and project partner didn’t have much background in programming but she did her best, we presented on Feb 7th and our professor said he’s happy with our hard-work. I’m currently waiting to be graded…
SPM: I loved this class because i was not familiar with the subject and I feel like I learned a lot, since we are following the agile method at work, and that was our main focus in class I felt like I had an advantage over my classmates.
For the end of semester group project, we hand it in 3 days prior to due date, on presentation day our professor said he’s happy that we seem to understand the main points of project management, but he said he would have liked our project report to have been more thorough…
SRE: a very well structured class, I did most of the homeworks and assignments on time and I was very happy with it, I don’t know why i got the least makrs in it, hoping my end of semester exams made up for it, cuz I was happy with it.
.
End of semester exams
SRE: I’m very happy with it, hoping to get 90-ish
SPM: not too good; please let me get at least 80-ish
AOOP: better than midterm; hoping to get 85 ~ 90
.
.
.
Did you actually read all of this? Thanks, how was your semester?
Working on semester projects
