The role A Software Test Engineer is now required to create, support and execute test plans/cases to support core software application development. The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for: * The design and development of test plans and test cases based on system design documentation (requirement specifications, use cases etc) * execution of test plans * Support Business Users during user acceptance testing * Log defects (using standard bug tracking software) during the test execution phase * Investigate potential defects in conjunction with Project Manager and/or development team. * In-conjunction with the development team, isolate root cause of defects and drive the resolution of defects * Select appropriate test methodology for various system components * Work closely with project personnel to ensure issues/bugs are clearly and actionably described and recorded * Report test results to the Project Delivery Manager which clearly identifies areas of concern. The person You will be a skilled Test Engineer with Software experience, particularly with Wev technologies such as Java, Eclipse, HTML & CSS. You will be ambitous, a self-starter and be able to work in a cross-functional team. The Software Test Engineer will have the following skills: * A thorough, demonstrable understanding of the software development life-cycle * Strong Java experience and experience of installing and working in Eclipse IDE * The ability to set up a Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) framework * The ability to create automated test scripts in a BDD framework and demonstrate a thorough understanding of automation using Java, Cucumber, Selenium Web Driver (note, Web Driver, not Selenium IDE or 'Record and Playback') * Ability to set up a Page Object model framework * A good understanding of the fundamentals of quality management and measurement within an IT context * Ability to provide system load assessments as part of testing phase * Understanding of current usability and accessibility best practice * Good knowledge of Windows 7 environment * Broad understanding of modern web technologies of HTML, CSS selectors, JavaScript * The ability to query SQL DB * Solid experience in testing RESTFUL APIs * Familiar with all phases of agile and Kanban development lifecycles This vacancy is being advertised by Advanced Resource Managers.
