sand from degradation of igneous rocks (granites, gneisses and quartzites) of the Sierra de Guadarrama acid soils of the mesomediterranean floor
Desde un punto de vista geológico, el substrato del municipio de Guadarrama está compuesto básicamente por rocas plutónicas y metamórficas en forma de granitos, granodioritas, adamellitas, gneises glandulares y en ocasiones gneises pizarrosos y esquistos. En los valles existen rellenos aluviales y coluviales cuaternarios.
A nivel global, se puede decir que se trata de un suelo con poco contenido arcilloso, estando compuesto esencialmente por arenas, esencialmente de cuarzo, de grano medio, y matriz limosa.
