In today’s lesson for #TJsSummerSchool, Noah learned about #work and managing #money. We talked about how Mommy and Daddy go to work to earn money so they can pay for things.

Noah said he wanted to do some work when I asked him, so throughout the morning, I gave him some jobs to do. (My laundry is now done and our stairs are wiped clean. 😊) Every time he completed a job, I wrote it down on his work log.

In between jobs, we made three jars to put his money in. We labeled the jars “Give,” “Save,” and “Spend.” I drew pictures of what the jars are for, as well as how many coins to put in each jar. (I’m paying him in groups of 10 coins.) He added his own artistic touch to the labels.

He got 10 dimes as a gift. He put one coin in the Give jar (so we can honor God, not be selfish, and help others), two coins in the Save jar (so we can save for something we may need later), and the rest in the Spend jar (which, since he has no bills, he can enjoy!). We can take the Give jar money to church, the Save jar money to the piggy bank, and the Spend jar money to the store.

By the end of the morning, he earned $2. I paid him in dimes, and he put the money in his jars. Hopefully we can go shopping later so he can enjoy the fruits of his labor.
