I watched this fight live, and watching it now isn’t any easier. Yuji Shimada probably shouldn’t be reffing fights anymore. At least until Sakakibara’s NYE event when he can preside over Fedor murdering that guy, and finally completing Shimada’s blood sacrifice to the violence gods.

Linton Vassell vs Sokoudjou

England’s Linton Vassell (15-4) has a shot at getting back into a Bellator title fight. He came up just short in his first effort against Emanuel Newton. If title fights were three rounds, he’d be champ. Now he’ll have to fight his way through a 1 night tournament featuring Emanuel Newton, King Mo, and Phil Davis to do it. His first opponent will be King Mo (15-4).

Bellator runs their #1 contender tournament at light heavyweight this Saturday (Sept 19th). It is featured on the Bellator MMA & Glory: Dynamite 1 card.

Linton Vassell wins via TKO in the 2nd.

Vassell controls Sokoudjou, takes his back, and just piles on a bit of GnP until the ref calls it. Seemed like Sokoudjou just wanted out. 

Hard to believe Sokoudjou is only 30.
