Something interesting about PykeRett is that they are both equally overprotective of each other just that we only really see Rett having to swoop in to save Pyke because he goes down a lot more than Rett does because Rett is a fucking UNIT.
Like I don’t think Rett has gone down at all in all 8 episodes of anthem and i can’t remember if he ever did in overture. Meanwhile Pyke has already gone down 2/3 times in anthem, god knows how many in overture.
Cuz Pyke is a martial class and he gets really into peoples business, Rett has a higher ac than him i think? About the same hp and is also a ranged fighter!! He can keep his distance from people and also summon a BLACK HOLE at will,,, Let’s not forget that he’s one of the healers of the group, if his hp gets down he can just fix himself up no prob.
Rett seems a lot more insane abt Pyke because he gets more chances to be and because he’s a lot louder but I think Pyke also shows his overprotectiveness of Rett in every fight.
Pyke immediately goes in into peoples faces but a lot of the time checks on Rett first, gives him a nod/ a look, tells him something whatever, in the last episode when Andy said he “made a terrible decision in character” because Pyke would never leave Rett alone in battle (mmm crumbs) I think its because Pyke quite literally tries to be a human shield and take as much attention off of Rett and into himself. Pretty sure he gets to do it on the first fight of anthem, originally Glup seemed to be targeting Pyke while Quibly went for Rett but soon enough Pyke because enough of a nuisance that he got both their attention set up on him.
