day 6 (may 29th): [forged/broken] promises
thank gnome it’s friday! casts a spell on you that makes you think about heart and mind’s pinky promise and proceeds to leave :)
it can be an oath. it can be casual. but promises are about trust. if the promise is forged - how strong must that bond be to withstand the test of time? if it’s broken - how do they feel about that? did they expect it to be broken, or did they trust the other to keep it safe?

day 5 (may 28th): [sincere/forced] apology
day 5! now, the apology doesn’t have to be serious, nor does the ‘forcing’… just any apology! i (mod purple) do love the idea of solar eclipse apologizing to each other after everything.

day 4 (may 27th): [repaired/destroyed] metal
halfway through, everyone! now, this can be any kind of metal - weapons, what your mind might be made of… locks, maybe? there are others. mostly the first two! and then healing vs destruction.
to be honest, y’all, i think this one is pretty self-explanatory! go my solar eclipse-lings :)

day 3 (may 26th): [beautiful/awful] flowers
third day! flowers have a bunch of meanings to play with - probably why hanahaki au is so popular! speaking of hanahaki au, if you’ve ever wanted an opportunity to throw your hat in the ring, this is your chance!
flowers are kind of representative of growth and nurture. for a flower to grow, you have to care for it over weeks, & track its signs of life or injury. that’s why i (mod purple) love my headcanon where solar eclipse have a garden - because if they could work together for something so simple, doesn’t that mean something?
there’s also the beauty of flowers. and then, the awfulness of flowers! why are the flowers awful? well, they could represent something awful. maybe they’re awful because of their beauty. maybe they’re reminiscent of something that the characters can’t bear. maybe they’re dead.
so many options! i can’t wait to see what you make!

day 2 (may 25th): [new/old] photos
second day of the event! the adjectives are definitely more straightforward here, and i’d say the prompt is as well. photos are, literal or figurative, snapshots of time. memories! this one lends itself well to yearning for a time lost, or making memories in the time you already have!
i’m just gonna add- who’s taking these photos? for what purpose? do they hang up the photos? burn them even? are the photos honest portrayals of the moment, or are they filtered and posed for a specific vision?
either way, i’m excited to see what y’all do!

day 1 (may 24th): [open/closed] sky
the event is officially on with our first prompt, open and/or closed sky! there are a lot of things sky or sky-related - the sun and the moon for one, so if you wanna play on that part of solar eclipse then the door’s wide open! there’s also flying of any kind - wings and birds and such. clouds and weather phenomena probably. this is also a great time to reference spring and a storm!
you can be a bit more metaphorical with it, though - to me, the theme the sky is most inclined to is freedom or lack thereof. i’m also thinking about real vs fake, like the ending of the truman show. buuut the sky’s the limit with this one!
so. open/closed, what could that mean? it works well with freedom, of course. besides that, open could be more like unobscured and vice versa. there’s also open as vulnerability. the sky is open to you, it allows you to see it vs the sky is closed to you, it doesn’t allow you to see it.
these are just a few ideas to get you thinking. i’m excited to see your art!
