Solarpunk Fashion Week - Autumn Edition

 October 8th to October 14th 2018

Solarpunk Fashion Week will return next month for a new week of solarpunk fashion! The theme of this week is going to be Autumn & Harvest, but contributions don't have to follow the theme (you can e.g. get inspired by the season and weather that you have where you live).

As before, the main goal of the week is to inspire and showcase solarpunk-style fashion worn or created by the community. This can be outfits you wear, clothes or accessories you design or create, or even written thoughts on solarpunk fashion. Any kind of contribution is great!

The idea is to inspire people to create something new for the week, but there is no rule saying this blog couldn't share things that have been made for something else. Therefore feel free to also send solarpunk fashion related things you've created before and would like to share with the community!

To get showcased, tag #solarpunkfashionweek and/or this blog @solarpunkfashionweek in your Tumblr post, or send you creation as a submission. You can also send your post via private messages to ensure that the mod sees it.

Note: As accessibility is an important aspect of solarpunk, please write a description of any images in your posts. This makes it possible for people using screenreaders to understand what the images contain.

A small ring for Solarpunk Fashion Week. This ring was made using the last of my pleather scraps bought secondhand and salvaged from clothing. It’s like a tiny reminder for myself to try not to let anything go to waste.

Another solarpunk fashion week post! This one’s a little fancier. The skirt is thrifted, and I made the blouse, earrings, and the corset, which is actually part of my ren faire costume

I put together a solarpunk outfit while in Montreal last weekend! The yellow floral dress is from a clothing swap, the hairclip is from Olga’s Creative Studio on Etsy, and I got the earrings in Montreal at a goth store called Diabolik.

Montreal is full of awesome street art, which makes great outfit photo backgrounds. I also met a sweet, chill shop dog at one of the stores in the Mile End neighborhood.

Solarpunk Fashion Week day 5

My dress is actually the skirt from my bell cosplay. I made it out of curtains I got from a thrift store! its meant to go over a hoopskirt though so its pretty long. Its got great big pockets in it too, because everything is better with pockets.

The cloak was made from curtains my sister was getting rid of. Its some kind of faux suede material I think? The trim on the cloak is also from my sister it was part of a fabric flower thing she got me to take off of her dress. the clasp is a brooch from the thrift store.
