"..." It all happened so fast, first he felt her eyes on him, then she suddenly kisses him, shoves a letter at him then runs away before he can even process or respond to what the hell just happened.

He stands there flustered and confused, wondering why Aerith would do something like this. Had it been anyone else he would have pushed them away instantly.

He snaps out of it and reads the letter.

It had been 6 months since the day Zack almost died. Cloud had been working as a Merc  and  setting aside money for Zack when he wakes up. He even reunited with  Tifa, a girl  he knew since as far back as he can remember who lived  in the same  village  he did and met some new people as well through her. After his  jobs  he came back to the safe house to wait by Zack’s side for him to wake up.  He had gone into  coma and hadn’t woken up since.

Sometimes Cloud would have nightmares of Zack dying and would come into his room to check on him, to reassure himself that he is still alive, just taking a very long nap.  Cloud  often blamed himself  for what happened, even though he knew there was no point in placing blame. It wouldn’t change anything. Currently, Cloud is telling the comatose Zack about his day, as per usual, when he hears Zack make a  noise then saw his hand  move.  He grabds Zack’s hand and calls out to him, “Zack? Zack can you hear me?”  Could he dear hope? Is Zack finally waking up? Should he  got get the doctor?  But what if his misses Zack waking up? He bites down on his lip  chewing in thought.

“... “ Of all things that  the other could tell him that is spreading about him, it had to be  that he’s gay. Because guys that don’t show an interest in  women are automatically gay right? NOT. 

How frustrating.  He’s just simply  not comfortable with women clinging onto him, he’s  not a cuddly, or touchy feely  person.  He’ll tolerate it from a friend or family member, or someone he is interested in, but a random person? NO.

He isn’t even sure why the other is even interested in knowing.

If anything Cloud really hasn’t put much thought in about whether he’s gay, strait or otherwise.   He just doesn’t have a preference in gender at all.  “ I don’t really care, I don’t have a preference. I have to have a connection with someone before I’m attracted to them.”
