Sunset finish line! 🌆😍 Race two (of three) at Princes Park last night. I love me some fairy lights and this cool aired finish line was a delight after gunning it a little bit for 8k. I had a combination of slow trams + fast run to get there, raced to the start line with my running pack still on (and ran with it on) so OMG a little bit sleepy at the end. Lovely event, nice one #solemotive and enjoying the #sunsetseries !
We're off to the zoo, zoo, zoo! First of the 'sunset series'. It sure lived up to its spectacular name. Explorerthon of new areas of Melbourne on a cross-town walk, then an 8km of zoo-loops seeing giraffes and zebras and monkeys and sweaty runners in 37°. Quietly roasting with every kilometre until my skin was on fire and my heart was leaping out of my chest and legs still soaring. Good heat training! Competitive spirit was a little present there! Hanging out in our pre-race happy place. Chris and I ran around the Melbourne ZOO tonight! And it was such fun! The zoo is the first of the local 'Sunset' series of steaming evening races. This one was a balmy 37 degrees. I started cooking from the inside out in the last couple of kilometres and lay down the grass for a long time afterwards. Hot hot hot. The sunset followed.
