Casual solo day out
In Japan, it's very normal to see people eating, shopping, going to the movies, etc. alone, but when I went to Seoul, it was almost impossible for me to find food portions for one person. You always needed to be a couple or a group of friends, and I was eager to go back to Tokyo, where I could live my solo introverted life outside in peace.

That was a lovely outing...
First, I decided to go to a bookstore. I took pictures of books I found interesting/funny or might want to buy online. My initial thought going in was to look for an adult coloring book. I did but didn't capture it because so many people we're around. The second bookstore I went to, I did the same. I also made some new discoveries about the stores and myself. The first store gave off a semi hip vibe vs the old school vibe in the second. The hip bookstore played jazz music and people felt free to converse. I enjoyed the layout.. The old school store didn't have any music playing or bell that rang when I came in. People and the noises they make on creeky floors. In the old store I felt so sure I'd find a gem but my hunger distracted me. Hahaha I didn't stay in the second that long... What I realized after previewing all those books was I really want to write. I want to start my own story. I want to document my life. I want to write about things that inspire me and desires for the future. After I decided to go to a local frozen yogurt shop. I had apple pie and country vanilla yogurt with tons of cookie dough piecesI'm actually glad I didn't hang with my friend today.
Going on a retreat tomorrow by myself. A friend who convinced me to go had to back out last minute (sniffle) so I am going alone. I do many things alone: live, shop, etc but eating out and going to events is something I seldom do solo. This will be a learning experience and an eye-opening one. It is a spiritual retreat with brothers from the Taize community, a day of meditation, self-reflection. I am excited and a bit scared to go alone. It is nice to jump out of your comfort zone with someone you know. I am an adult and can do this. I traveled for years with my old job alone. I can handle a amazing retreat alone. I am sure I will meet many interesting and awesome people.
Solo Trip
Today we let Oldest do something that I would have never done at her age. Today we drove her to the library and *gulp* left her there for 2 hours by herself. Yes you heard correctly, By. Herself. 2. Hours. Her dad told her a few days ago that maybe we would let her do the alone trip one day for like an hour just to see how it goes.
