Days 32-35
Finally made it to Minneapolis! Yay! I was really excited. I have to give a major thank you to Stephanie and Bob from Above The Falls Sports! They allowed me to store my canoe and gear at the shop so I could run around Minneapolis and explore.

Day 20
Despite the loss of my mother yesterday, I’m going to keep paddling. Life goes on and the sadness will weaken a little everyday.

Day 8
After last night’s storm I was ready to get back on the water. The lightning was out of control. I was worried for awhile about my safety. Today was a gorgeous day! No wind, no rain, no heat! It was easy paddling for the next 30 miles.

Day 7
Thunderstorms held me down at Lake Winnibigoshish dam. I’ll considered it a rest and recovery day. Talked to some nice people and watched some fisherman. I can’t wait to get a pole and do some fishing myself!

Today Is The Day!!
Well folks, a little after 8am I will be launching my canoe at Lake Itasca beginning my 2,321 mile journey down the Mississippi River. I’m pretty excited!
The bus ride up here was long but pleasant. I ended up meeting some really great and interesting people. If any of you are reading this, I wish you luck in all of your future endeavors!

Delays
Well, unless I magically find a ride to Lake Itasca before June 6, it looks like I’ll have to delay my start date. My initial ride up there cancelled and I’m struggling to find another one.
