I know I’m going to get shit for this, but mac and cheese. The texture is just not it for me. I’ve really tried to like it, and I just don’t.

10. Do you enjoy writing dialogue, exposition, or plot the most?

dialogue and plot, for sure! exposition gives me such a headache lmao, those are usually the bits i end up rewriting the most during editing. i loooove making outlines and plotting, but once i'm actually writing then dialogue is so much fun. love reading it love writing it.

19. Who is the easiest/hardest character for you to write about? Why?

easiest: i think eddie for pov, steve for like...character arc/plot points/etc. writing about steve from eddie's pov for my christmas fic was a hoot. i love putting steve in situations.

hardest: NANCY!! i've barely written her so far because i'm just like........so afraid of not doing her justice? which is hilarious because the longer i think/read about her the more i realize how similar we are lol. she gets so much unnecessary shit from the fandom (either portrayed as an emotionless bitch, hard-ass with no soft side, just plain boring, etc.) and whenever i have written her/about her i've really tried to not have her come across any of those ways, but i always worry. still have lots of room for improvement on my end, definitely—i really would like to get better at writing her in the future!! 2023 is the year of NANCY WHEELER

fic summary: (modern au/no ud) based on "18" by anarbor, steve's had enough of his parents being assholes (both homophobic and in general), and recruits eddie as his fake boyfriend to piss them off/get back at them. this bit's a snippet from chapter 5—steve's over at the trailer helping eddie brainstorm for a hellfire session and he is working through some Feelings™.

(i'm not very happy with the way this bit is written yet so this'll probably get re-worked in the final draft kjfdkls, but there's a snippet with "hands"!)

12. Is there a trope you haven’t written yet but really want to? oooh my god so many! apart from the current active wips, my top tropes i want to write are a parent trap au and a vol2 fix-it (oh and smut)

13. Is there a trope you wouldn’t write if it was the last trope on earth? i don't wanna yuck anybody's yum, but like any sort of non-con, massive age gap, and like y/n or reader inserts are just not for me

18. What is a line/scene you’re really proud of? Give us the DVD commentary for that scene. it's gotta be the study room scene in love is like ghosts! that scene is the first part of the fic that i wrote, and i feel like the banter is particularly on point. i always knew this scene was going to happen (if not necessarily how far it was going to go 😉), so it was just trying to build the atmosphere and the tension to make it a worthwhile payoff, particularly finding steve's breaking point

6. Which yet-to-be-started fic is first on your list?

the don't trust me steddie fic. 100%. the moment that i'm done with ikwywfm..................it's shitpost smut fic time

also the ronance counterpart to "you're in your apartment"! i have a few notes jotted down already but i'd need to spend some time fully getting back into the mindset for it, so that'll be a little farther out.

16. Do you have that one fanfic that you wrote a ton for, ages ago, but never posted? Will this be the year, come hell or high water, that it WILL get finished and posted?

the closest thing i have is probably my klance fic from 2017! it's a christmas fic where keith hates christmas and lance tries to convert him through the power of cheesy christmas movies lkjafdkf. i got about 14k words into it before i got self-conscious/busy with exams (it really was not very good), but i think it would be fun to re-work it and post it next christmas if i can (even then, it's tbc). i don't think i have anything else that fits the criteria!

(also this doesn't technically count but the day the final chapter of ikwywfm goes up i'm throwing myself a fucking party)

"where's the spark?" has such a special place in my heart, the build-up was truly sososo sweet and exciting. but "wine and dine" still takes me out when i think of how you turned such a simple, mundane mishap into something that felt SO intimate and caring. <33 must i pick only ONE? (i could go on, by the way. i just want to spare you the novel)

12. How many WIPs do you have in your docs for next year? I doubt I'll finish any of my current WIPs before the end of the year since life is so crazy atm, so I'll probably bring all 5 of my current ideas into the new year!

What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)? i think it's gotta be wine & dine! it all really just flowed as soon as i saw the prompt, and i just had a lot of fun with it, letting the boys be silly and goofy but also so sincere with each other. it's also the first piece of my writing i've ever shared publicly!

17. Your favorite character to write this year? oh god don't make me choose!! steve and eddie are absolutely tied, for different reasons. steve is fun to write because he's so bitchy and snarky, eddie is fun to write because he's either like high-falutin dm or straight-to-the-point, blunt and direct. both of them have a lot of layers to the way they talk, so it's fun to figure out their reactions to stuff.
