@Regran_ed from @performingstatistics - Richmond Public Schools suspended almost 20% of all African American students last year and 25% of all disabled students. The RPS district is 6th worse in the Commonwealth of VA for short-term suspensions. The memories of everyone waiting in line to get their hair done the stocking caps you got to put on at bedtime the shower caps to bathe getting your hair braided having braids wearing weave not everybody can understand the culture or understand what it's like to sit in that chair with your big sister your mom your auntie your grandmother your hairdresser standing behind you reminding you that pain is Beauty and you better not flinch to all my little sisters being judged for their braids being judged for their protective styles I say unto you let's go get our hair braided and make them even madder.
