rip clemont you would’ve loved having a rival who wasn’t ash (if he even counts)
#I JUST WANT HIM TO HAVE SOMEONE HE CAN FIGHT AND GROW FROM. WHO ISNT ASH.#SERENA HAD 3 SHOWCASE RIVALS (not counting jessie) AND ASH HAD 4. BUT CLEMONT HAD NO ONE#WHERE IS THE BUDDY FOR CLEMONT#it also makes like no sense?? they set trevor to be clemont’s counterpart in the camp arc. but then they just forget about that#and made trevor ash’s rival. even though they never went hard into that concept at all. they had like one fight but that was when trevor had#a charmeleon#and then the writers made trevor lose the FIRST FIGHT IN THE LEAGUE. AGAINST ALAIN. BULLSHIT#it would’ve been so funnn to have a tech vs nature arguement with clemont and trevor. but nooooo we have to give ash as many rivals as#possible. pisses me off#thinking of an inventor oc who just pops out of nowhere during the kalos gang’s journey. specifically to tease clemont and get him mad#like he just comes out of nowhere at the worst times. like there’s a problem (maybe team rocket. maybe something else). and this character#and clemont both invent a machine to help solve the problem. except the rival’s machine always works perfectly and ‘solves’ the problem#as fast and efficient as possible. except the rival doesn’t really care about pokemon as much as clemont does#but throughout the time they’re rivals. the character learns to appreciate pokemon and how they can help when inventing#BUT ALSO. when trying to solve the problem. the rival’s machine doesn’t work out as well compared to clemont’s who explodes and actually#solves the problem better#IF ANY OF THAT MAKES SENSE#idek when i said he. i haven’t even thought of their gender yet. this oc is just a crack thought. maybe no gender#ANYWAYS.
