The Charlatans - The Only One I Know
Some musicians from Manchester tend to be understood as the also-rans that can surprise us with some of their work. For instance, the Charlatans could be seen as the Hollies – who were also from Manchester, if you recall – of the 90's . I mean, both of these groups are taken for granted and both of them reached the heights not many expected them to and these were some of the best songs of their periods. Still, I believe the comparison might be a bit off, since the Charlatans are a different beast than the other group. The Tim Brugess-lead band followed the ways the collectives of their time should've behaved a bit more than the Hollies, though the Charlantans managed to sound current more than the other collective.
