NONE OF THIS IS OKAY -------------------- she wants to protest OUT LOUD, not just think it, but she’s still trying to settle her breath and choppy words won’t do much to strengthen her case. “bruce,”

this isn’t the first time ROGUE AGENTS have come after her ----------- she knows her name is on more than a few LISTS after leaving SHIELD, and she’s sure HIS NAME is on just as many if not more  (  and in twenty - two point font and bright RED to boot   ) despite how none of what just happened has appeared to phase him. 

and it doesn’t change the fact she’s supposed to be keeping an eye out for the both of them; she’s supposed to be HELPING THINGS not making them worse. clearing a name posthumously is not something she wants, and it’s not what he deserves. but there’s no use to arguing about it now. not while they’re still OUTSIDE and vulnerable. but once they get BACK and she’s got a chance to size up the bruise on her ribs she can feel expanding with every breath, she’ll say what she’s been thinking.

               𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄  𝐎𝐅  𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄  𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐏𝐒  𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌  𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐌𝐔𝐑𝐃𝐎𝐂𝐊’𝐒  𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐍  𝐀𝐒  𝐃𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐒  𝐖𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃  𝐎𝐍  𝐀  𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐘  𝐃𝐀𝐘 ,  crimson  staining  earth  below ,  the  wound  deep  though  fatal  it  is  not.    he  hides  it  well ,  the  pain ,  has  always  held  unto  it  as  desperately  as  a  mother  would  their  newborn.    yet  ETERNITY  sees  all ,  feels  all  ...  the  pulsing  beneath  flesh  that  would  never  heal  wholly.    without  haste   &   gracefully  as  wind  through  a  sea  of  silky  grass  a  single  celestial  hand  ascends  to  grasp  his  chin ,  tilting  his  head  ever  so  slightly  to  one  side  before  a  kiss  finds  the  gash  on  his  cheek.    there  STARS  LINGER  for  a  moment  or  many ,  they  know  not  ...  yet  when  those  same  stars  drift  away  from  senses  ...  the  terrible  pain   &   sensation  from  such  a  would  would  be  but  a  distant  memory.

     it was him who had been weak that night. he’d blame it on the alcohol, but his thoughts were clear. no sign of a hazy detour; it was a clear sky ride that led him straight to her door. he swear he couldn’t be blamed. there was a few quiet moments where he sat in his car watching her silhouette go from one room to the next, and at first that was enough. until it wasn’t. until the shadow of her frame went in one room and never came out. that’s when the need became too strong, and his car door slammed shut and his legs moved at a speed much faster than his mind could tell them to stop, and then he was in front of her. trying his best to give nonchalant smile as he breezed in through the door. “have you been well?” he asked in a tone that was meant to be bright, but instead came off as rushed and a bit panicked. “you can ask why i’m here, but i...-- honestly, i can’t give you an answer..”

“Effing hell that hurts damn it!” He hated the feeling of rubbing alcohol on his cuts, it stung. It really was an issue, but here he was covered in cuts and scratches with ann taking care of them. “I told you...I’m fine.” In truth he was beyond from fine, he not only called it close not once but twice thanks to the shadows they were fighting, he got blind sided and really took a beating.
